kostas greek restaurant

great place. service was excellent. our waiter made sure our dishes came out with the proper timing. and the food was great. gyros huge. dolmas had a subtle flavor and even the feta on thegreeksalad was mild and added great flavor. i am not a feta fan. love this place. will be back to try the lamb.

kostas is a great place forgreekfood. we usually start out with spanikopita fried and then flambé table side. great show. many times we split the athenian combo. we each get a shrimp, lamb chop and pork tenderloin.

tasteless food, rude owner, overpriced, poor service. my husband and i patronized kostas on mother's day at 12:30 pm. note not a major holiday. w were seated at a unusually dark table and there was one other family there. we proceeded to wait for an additional 10 mins before the waiter decided to come to our table. we place our orders and waited, and waited for the total of 25 mins.before our cold and grease soaked food made it to our table.the only redeeming factor about our meal was the salad. we did not see a waiter again until we pushed our half eaten plates to end of the table and was given the check. upon attempting to retrieve my groupon voucher to pay the check, the owner strolled by informing rudely and condescendingly that he does not except groupon vouchers on a major holiday. he further stated i go to the website and read his terms and conditions. i told him that a major holiday would be christmas or thanksgiving. as he walked past he said i will not accept your voucher for today's meal. our meal was $40 for an appetizer and two entrees. a $40 lesson i learned the hard way. determined to get our money back on the voucher we purchased we went back 2 days later in the evening and had two entrees. again we waited 25-30 mins for our meals with no other diners in the restaurant. the food was extremely salty and yes cold. so to sum it up if you like to wait a long time before you eat your tasteless, greasy cold food and be ignored and deal with a rude condescending owner i recommend you find anothergreekrestaurant that values its customer. we were able to redeem our groupon voucher with no problem but will not be returning to kosta's in the future.

this is an offshoot of the older kostas near preston, which was one of the first non-chain restaurants in plano. this version, on park and alma, is in a 7-11 building that has been nicely decorated. with the service and table-setting this given the strong impression of an upscale restaurant although the prices don't match.
whenever we cannot decide where to eat we usually end up at kosta's. the have very warm service. recently after thanksgiving i took me family (in-laws) there and ended up with and unexpected 14 people for sunday lunch. kosta's handled this organized group with ease! i was highly impressed. they always make my wife and i welcome, but it takes special talent to do that for a surprise table of 14 people!
my wife likes to try their specials (usually some kind of lamb) while i am sadly stuck on their gyros.
sometimes we go there just because my wife wants theirgreekcoffee for desert!
this is always a lovely welcoming place!

fantastic homemadegreekfood. the spanakopita tasted like what grandma made. the gyro was outrageous. fair prices for homemade goodness. the greenbeans are fantastic as well and thegreekpotatoes are made the right way with lemon and olive oil. the staff treated us like they've seen us every day but this was our first visit

best in plano. love this place. i don't go often enough because we have kids and this is a very quiet casual place. kids are certainly welcome, but my wife and i like to enjoy the dining alone.

everything on the menu is great. watch out for thegreekcoffee. the grounds are in the cup (this is normal), the flavor is bold, and it will certainly wake you up. you have to try it.

best greek, best atmosphere. this is mine and my wife's personal favorite restaurant! we always look for reasons to dine here. it is simply delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. what's good? everything. don't forget to order saganaki as an appetizer, opa! also, you must try the humus. if you're not familiar withgreekfood, sit in nick's area for a brilliant description of each of the menu's meals. you'll love the owner, zissis. he is a fantastic host. you must try this place!
