this vietnamese-canadian loves it. i can only envy a couple of my friends for living less than a hundred feet from this delightful establishment. the atmosphere although far from chic is quite refreshing, almost as if you've stepped off the wet coast and into warmer climates, a stark contrast to the 1970's mcdonald's style exterior that could do a better job of inviting people in to experience some of the best tasting vietnamesefoodi've ever experienced, and being a vietnamese-canadian i've been to a lot of vietnamese restaurants.
my bowl of pho tai nam gan sach looks like a typical bowl of pho but the first taste of broth and i knew that this restaurant was above the rest. the broth was well prepared with the perfect blend of all the ingredients required for its preparation with no hint of excess salt that would typically be added to broth not cooked long enough. the noodles themselves were cooked to just the right consistency and the cuts of meat generous.
my wife seemed to enjoy her bowl of vermicelli which was served with above average presentation, the cuts of meat did not have the greasiness she complains about at a few other restaurants and the nuoc mam like most restaurants is good.
if you happen to be in the area, this is not a restaurant to miss!
