beware the tip. we used to go to this restaurant because truth be told, we thought the food good. unfortunately, the proprietor (a korean woman) never remembered us so whenever we received our bill, she took pains to remind us that the tip wasn't included in the price. we are, by the way, generous tippers. we prefer to leave the tip on the table and i think this woman was used to people leaving tips with their interact or credit cards....so, i believe she didn't 'see' the tip and thought it necessary to remind us. i started to resent being told to tip. the last time we were there, i'd had enough. when my husband went up to pay, he was again reminded. i went to the cash register and told her that we frequented her restaurant quite often and that we always tipped. i added that in canada, we never ask for tips...that it is very rude to do so. i must say, i wasn't at all polite about it and the other clients heard my comments....this i regret. i then took the tip i was going to leave, went back to our table and 'slammed' it down on the tabletop...not my best moment. but, in my defense, i was tired of this woman's rude behaviour. to that end, we will not frequent kimchi house anymore preferring the decent food and kind service at manna grill. i hope that my actions resulted in others being able to 'dine' without being told to tip.
