kevin brown's burgers

amazing burger!. not sure what the previous 2 folks were smoking, but the bacon cheeseburger i just had was freakin amazing. no fillers...definitely not average. it's huge and loaded w/bacon like it should be; tasty and juicy. this was our 1sttimehere and we will definitely be back.

unique burgers!. there is nothing wrong with this place, old building, old fixtures, but perfectly clean. spotless. one cannot ask anything more of such an older, throwback burger joint. as stated in some of the other reviews there are other menu choices other than hamburgers, but i have tunnel vision when going to keven brown's. the double bacon cheese burger reins supreme to all! sure, not a gourmet burger. it's a cheeseburger that will kill any appetite!! i had heard before going the firsttimethey had burgers to die for. i didn't know about the world famous bacon double cheeseburger and when the nice lady came around the corner with our order she was watching me and saw my reaction when i saw what she was bringing out. it was a resounding "om*gawd!! thats for me???" see pic. it was awesome. as others have noted the ingredients are standard hamburger fare... but one cannot replicate this thing at home easily. thick cut bacon and lots of it. wonderful hamburger meat, not black angus, but perfectly suited for hamburgers, (no soybeans in this!!) wonderfully prepared fresh vegetables, fresh soft buns, tasty condiments, excellent fries and onion rings. i admit, i had to take some of the bacon off and still i could not bite the thing in the normal way, so, i smashed it flatter and could eat on it. i ate the whole thing my first visit, but didn't need to eat again for a day! it will be hard to beat this burger!!

it is a really good burger.... and i liked the bacon cheeseburger that i had. i cannot imagine someone getting a double or whatever... portions are for the extreme appetite. i went there for lunch... and this is not a lunchtimeburger for me, but may be for others. yes, it is an obscure kind of building, location and very unassuming. you could take a lot of notes from the other reviews, both the favorable and unfavorable and there is a good bit of truth in most of them. i say more than most reviews of other restaurants, which i find interesting. what i really like is the fresh ingredients in the burger, the vegetable toppings in particular, especially the tomato and onions. beautiful ripe tomatoes that were sliced from a grapefruit sized tomato and sweet onion slices that came from an equally large onion. hey, it is a burger after all, so do not come expecting a gourmet experience or fine dining. this is the kind of place you can come as you are and just enjoy some good food ! you pay more than a fast food chain burger, but you get so much more too. yes, you probably could make something similar at home, but you will put in sometimein order to find the perfect produce and prepare and clean up afterwards. we go out to eat so that we don't have to do those things after all ! i would go back and not regret it at all. i just need to make sure that i am really hungry !

a - mazing!. i was turned on to this place through a food show on pbs. had to seek it out and have never regretted it. the burgers are beyond incredible, but the cue ... amazing, fall off the bone ribs and perfectly smoked pulled pork. for cripes sake, even the grilled cheese is perfection on a plate. four cheeses, fully loaded with crisp fresh veggies and-what puts every dish over the top in my opinion-bacon! i live in downtown chatt but try to make the drive up to kevin brown's as often as my poor heart will allow. it's just far enough out of the way that it doesn't become a bad habit, but not so far of a trek that my cravings can't be sufficed when they call for the best burgers and ribs i've ever found ... which is often. it's closed on sunday and monday, which i learned the hard way. expect a bit of a wait any other day. apparently it gets longer as the day goes on since the orders just keep coming in. regardless, always worth the wait. the staff is also super friendly and home grown, and it always seems packed with local friends and neighbors. lasttimei drove by they were building a patio ... can't wait to enjoy that on my next visit.
