kevin brown's burgers

unique burgers!. there is nothing wrong with this place, old building, old fixtures, but perfectly clean. spotless. one cannot ask anything more of such an older, throwback burger joint. as stated in some of the other reviews there are other menu choices other than hamburgers, but i have tunnel vision when going to keven brown's. the double bacon cheese burger reins supreme to all! sure, not a gourmet burger. it's a cheeseburger that will kill any appetite!! i had heard before going the first time they had burgers to die for. i didn't know about the world famous bacon double cheeseburger and when the nice lady came around the corner with our order she was watching me and saw my reaction when i saw what she was bringing out. it was a resounding "om*gawd!! thats for me???" see pic. it was awesome. as others have noted the ingredients are standard hamburger fare... but one cannot replicate this thing athomeeasily. thick cut bacon and lots of it. wonderful hamburger meat, not black angus, but perfectly suited for hamburgers, (no soybeans in this!!) wonderfully prepared fresh vegetables, fresh soft buns, tasty condiments, excellent fries and onion rings. i admit, i had to take some of the bacon off and still i could not bite the thing in the normal way, so, i smashed it flatter and could eat on it. i ate the whole thing my first visit, but didn't need to eat again for a day! it will be hard to beat this burger!!

food great, service not so great. i live within a mile of kevin brown burgers. having really good food close tohomeis fantastic. that being said, the service is so bad there i won't return for a very long time. even calling in for take out is a chore and the service is lacking. i am disppointed to see such a great local place with fantastic potential, that i won't recommend it to anyone i know. plan to have lots of time, as everything is slow.

update 8/2015....changed my rating as improvements have been made. the staff is much friendlier and i enjoy going there. i even complimented the waitress once on the improvement and she said they went through a period with bad staff. this is a great place and the bbq far outshines the burgers!

a - mazing!. i was turned on to this place through a food show on pbs. had to seek it out and have never regretted it. the burgers are beyond incredible, but the cue ... amazing, fall off the bone ribs and perfectly smoked pulled pork. for cripes sake, even the grilled cheese is perfection on a plate. four cheeses, fully loaded with crisp fresh veggies and-what puts every dish over the top in my opinion-bacon! i live in downtown chatt but try to make the drive up to kevin brown's as often as my poor heart will allow. it's just far enough out of the way that it doesn't become a bad habit, but not so far of a trek that my cravings can't be sufficed when they call for the best burgers and ribs i've ever found ... which is often. it's closed on sunday and monday, which i learned the hard way. expect a bit of a wait any other day. apparently it gets longer as the day goes on since the orders just keep coming in. regardless, always worth the wait. the staff is also super friendly andhomegrown, and it always seems packed with local friends and neighbors. last time i drove by they were building a patio ... can't wait to enjoy that on my next visit.

great food at kevins. everytime i go to this restaurant it is a new experience. you have to do yourself a favor and try something new every time, so you get the full experience. i have never ate anything there that was not deliscious. i have to travel over 100 miles to get there but the experience is absolutely wonderful. friendly great atmosphere wornderful food. awesome!!!!!!!!!

kevin browns. the burgers were out of this world, handmade fresh meat. i sampled my husbands ribs they fell off the bone. i was too full to eat another bite so i got a rack of ribs to take home. great food great atmosphere

i like it ok; is a throwback to the old days of burgers and sandwiches before drive-ins. wooden bench booths for inside seating and old fashioned soda machine are nostalgic, but during my meal their main traffic was take-out and called in orders for take-out. hamburger is thick, meaty, like years gone by, but they don't ask how you want it cooked, you get it well done regardless. it's just an old fashioned downhomeburger and bar-b-q eatery, and i'll have to try the bar-b-q next.
