as a person who went to lsu and spent 5 years in louisiana this place was below average. not trying to say you can only have good food in louisiana, i've had plenty of great new orleans/cajun style food outside of louisiana, just was not impressed with this one. not sure why it gets such a high rating.

interesting location. definitely a "one off" which i prefer. service was exceptional; very polite. food was authentic and well portioned, if not too much. overall, a win.

we stopped in for breakfast while in town for a wedding. very unique. loved the food, atmosphere, and hazelnut coffee. staff was very friendly and made the environment very comfortable. the breakfast potatoes are a must have! amazing!

i love this place. the menu has a lot to choose from and ordering and paying are done at the counter. the decor is so interesting-there is so much to look at! the employees are friendly and the food is great! you can get free refills when you need them. the place is small and is seat-yourself, but it has not been super busy either of the times we visited. the atmosphere is very casual and relaxed.

we came across kenny b’s while at the hilton head island for a beach day. it is a short walk/ drive from coligny beach and very conveniently located. after reading some impressive reviews online, we decided it was our best option for lunch.

kenny b’s is not a big place but has indoor as well as outdoor seating areas. the interior is decorated with a lot of items from new orleans and the menu can be read on the wall behind the counter from which you order before you grab a seat. the place was bustling with beach-goers and seemed kid friendly. we ordered the 3 choice combo with fried scallops, blackened shrimps and gator tail bites. the platter came with french fries (sweet potato fries are also an option), hush puppies and coleslaw. we also ordered the southern favorite craw-fish etouffe. since it was a busy sunday afternoon, the service was a bit slow. but the food was well worth it. the gator tails were batter fried in a flavorful coat and the blacked shrimps stole the show. the platter was enough to share the between two people. we were not able to finish the craw-fish etouffe so we got it to go. but it was delicious! there was plenty of craw-fish in it and it was all smothered in an incredibly tasty sauce.

extremely glad we picked this place!

fantastic n'awlins fare. something for everybody; great décor and cheerful service. gumbo was rich, perfectly seasoned and delicious. served with cornbread - perfect, not at all dry. shrimp with grits was outstanding. terrific portions and wide selection of items. only disappointment was having being too full for the beignets.

great fried oysters. rice and beans were a little disappointing. my wife and i split a two item platter and it was a good size lunch for us.

the menu tips creole, but there's much to offer anyone interested in a unique bite. inside is homey and nostalgic, family photos on walls, sports. was greeted with a smile, and enjoyed a great meal.

be sure to get the beignets! they also have great eggs benedict served on fried green tomatoes. we go for breakfast every year when vacationing in hhi, and it never disappoints!

head right to the cash register to order at this sit down restaurant that nixes the wait staff, but still provides plenty of service. since we’re all about trying new things we ordered the gator bites, yes little pieces of alligator breaded and fried, which came with a paprika-spiced aioli dipping sauce. i’d recommend any of the po boy sandwiches or the any of the dishes that come with an option to have the meat blackened, like the blackened redfish atchafalaya. skip the jambalaya....
