this is a sequel to the last year’s post about katy’s korner, our favorite breakfast place in san ramon, california. eggs benedict is a staple, of course, and thistimei had eggs benedict santa fe, which has spicy sauce and avocado:

was my favorite breakfast place for well over a decade. over the last few years seemingly around the sametimethey opened katys kreek in walnut creek there's been a steady decline in all areas. portions have become smaller & smaller with prices rising faster. servers are downright rude & obviously tired of being there. last three times our families & friends meals have been cold. ownership needs to focus a little lesstimeon generating revenue on turning their menus, cups, & tables into a nascar & little more on the food & service.

hit or miss. after eating here twice i can say my overall experiences of katy's is that is just ok.

i saw good reviews and heard from people it was a good place for breakfast and lunch but seems sunday may not be the best day to go. i went both times on a sunday around 11am or so and there was a pretty good crowd with a short wait. it seemed a bit crowded and stuffy inside so i waited for a seat out front. they have a small deck in front of the restaurant and seating at plastic tables and chairs along the side. i was seated and both times sitting out front it took around 10 minutes to be greeted by a server. katy's offers over 10 different ways to get a egg's benedict so it was tough to choose. i ended up getting a crab and spinach egg's benedict and it was just ok. the nexttimei ordered the calamari sandwich. we waited about 20 minutes for the food then the server came out with only my sandwich and said it was up and ready and wanted to get it out fresh. my sandwich was good size, a full large calamari steak on toasted bread with a side of fries but my sandwich was missing the tartar sauce. i waited for a few minutes but couldn't get any ones attention to full fill my needs. i ended up going inside and asking who turned out to be the owner for a side of the sauce. it took her a good couple of minutes to get my side but as i waited i noticed how busy everyone was and food stacking up in a very small window. i got my sauce and told my parents it may be a lil while longer. in all it took almost 40 minutes for the complete order to get out to us and are server was so apologetic, sweet and i found her very cute. in all the food was pretty good but i still have my favorite places for a nice sunday afternoon bite. turns out on the second visit the owner insisted since we had so long of a wait and an overall not so good experience they comped our entire meal which was very nice. we gave the waitress $20 and took off.

it's a nice place to hang out on a lazy sunday and they have a pretty good looking menu and cute servers so i'll definitely give em another chance one of these days.
