the restaurant was very loud and our food came out cold and sat in the window for about 5 minutes so it came luke warm. it was an okay spot to eat. do not think we will be coming back

good food and service in quirky room. very good food for breakfast including freshly squeezed juices. seems to be big draw for local business crowd which is always a good sign. the decor is a bit quirky in a homey way, but it is fun to take in all the decor details.

this is a sequel to the last year’s post about katy’s korner, our favorite breakfast place in san ramon, california. eggs benedict is a staple, of course, and this time i had eggs benedict santa fe, which has spicy sauce and avocado:

sorry we went back. after we were seated our waitress walked passed us a good half dozen times before she acknowledged our existence. i am so damned sorry its your "busiest day of the year", you should be celebrating instead of whining about it because its the potentential for big fat tips and your biggest payday of the year, not from us, i thought the 5% you were left was to much. no, "hi my name is.... or a happy father's day" just a "what can i get you, it's the busiest day of the year". i got a beni and asked for well done, burned, crispy, over cooked, browned, potatoes. she said, "i'll see what i can do" in a tone that clearly meant that it ain't gonna happen buddy, you're lucky to get what you get. of our seven plates to hit the table mine hit first, she had no intention of fulfilling my request, my potatoes looked like everybody else's. my beni was ok, not great. the service sucked, everyone at the table agreed that this person needs to be in another business, i'd say collections would be a good fit, i've had better and more courteous service from the irs. return nope nope nope never!

it's pretty good. i liked the home fries, the benedict was alright. we'll go back for a second try and get something different. it was very busy which made the service suffer.

was my favorite breakfast place for well over a decade. over the last few years seemingly around the same time they opened katys kreek in walnut creek there's been a steady decline in all areas. portions have become smaller & smaller with prices rising faster. servers are downright rude & obviously tired of being there. last three times our families & friends meals have been cold. ownership needs to focus a little less time on generating revenue on turning their menus, cups, & tables into a nascar & little more on the food & service.

ants!! lots of them on our table. the owner was so generous to move us to the counter and bought us coffee!! wow, delicious drip tar. breakfast? it wasn't that good, potatos were mushy, i asked for them to be crispy but they said they couldn't. i will not go back.

old favorite. cute, cozy little place. i get the katy's bennedict every time. i try to branch out, but i can't. you just can't go wrong with buttery hollandaise sauce and garlicky, crusty potatoes. before my conversion, i have gotten the waffles and pancakes, they're good, just not as good as the eggs bennedict.

hit or miss. after eating here twice i can say my overall experiences of katy's is that is just ok.

i saw good reviews and heard from people it was a good place for breakfast and lunch but seems sunday may not be the best day to go. i went both times on a sunday around 11am or so and there was a pretty good crowd with a short wait. it seemed a bit crowded and stuffy inside so i waited for a seat out front. they have a small deck in front of the restaurant and seating at plastic tables and chairs along the side. i was seated and both times sitting out front it took around 10 minutes to be greeted by a server. katy's offers over 10 different ways to get a egg's benedict so it was tough to choose. i ended up getting a crab and spinach egg's benedict and it was just ok. the next time i ordered the calamari sandwich. we waited about 20 minutes for the food then the server came out with only my sandwich and said it was up and ready and wanted to get it out fresh. my sandwich was good size, a full large calamari steak on toasted bread with a side of fries but my sandwich was missing the tartar sauce. i waited for a few minutes but couldn't get any ones attention to full fill my needs. i ended up going inside and asking who turned out to be the owner for a side of the sauce. it took her a good couple of minutes to get my side but as i waited i noticed how busy everyone was and food stacking up in a very small window. i got my sauce and told my parents it may be a lil while longer. in all it took almost 40 minutes for the complete order to get out to us and are server was so apologetic, sweet and i found her very cute. in all the food was pretty good but i still have my favorite places for a nice sunday afternoon bite. turns out on the second visit the owner insisted since we had so long of a wait and an overall not so good experience they comped our entire meal which was very nice. we gave the waitress $20 and took off.

it's a nice place to hang out on a lazy sunday and they have a pretty good looking menu and cute servers so i'll definitely give em another chance one of these days.
