"lunch special" should be the "ripe-off special" !!!. can we all agree that a lunch special is a smaller portion than the same item on the dinner menu, and it comes with a corresponding lower price...
with that in mind...
the "lunch special" is designed and priced for customers no smarter than a bag of hammers! management is clearly looking for the "ladies that lunch" crowd and others that do not really think about getting a reasonable value for your dollar...
the "special" is $13.95 and includes one (1) 6" pizza and one (1) salad at 1/2 size. period. oh. i forgot... you get a glass of water, as well... add in tax and tip and you are around $18...for lunch !!!
oh, you can add morel mushrooms (remember, it's a 6" pizza) for $4.
you can get a 1/2 pint of beer for $3, which i like. it is nice to have a little beer at lunch but not a full pint sometimes. almost all their beers are $5, two or three at $6, and a stella will hit you for an ridiculous $8... i would prefer that their 1/2 pint pricing would be simple and fair...1/2 of the full pint price. what would be wrong with that? would that really be so hard to do? instead, the $3 price makes me feel taken advantage of. it is a "deal', if i order a stella, it is a "fair" price if i order one of the $6 beers, and i'm "overpaying" if i order a $5 beer..
almost all of their other food items have food pricing in full dollar amounts...$18...$16...$15...etc... with a price of $13.95, rather than $14, doesn't seem like management is being a bit sneaky...?
this was my first visit and i doubt i will be back.
the pizza was tasty, as was the salad, but i left with a sour taste in my mouth and a lighter wallet...
come on, katie, rock hill is not clayton...that is a given, but, that does not mean we are stupid !!!
