thumbs down. highly overrated pizza. we sat inside at some very uncomfortable hightop table. the pizza was lack luster...much better options 3 miles away. service was adequate...just kind of loud and uncomfortable. the caprese salad was great, but over priced.

beyond disapointed. i have never reviewed a restaurant online before. i have worked in many and know everyone has off nights, but not only was the food bad, the service was too. unbelievably disappointed. had to cancel a mother's day res due to illness, so thought we'd try again for father's day. obviously, the pizza god's were trying to warn us. the egg/wild mushroom pizza: dough wasn't even cooked, i mean it was raw and there were about 4 mushrooms on the entire pizza (all button). the egg was hard boiled instead of over easy/runny, even though i waited 8 min longer than the rest of my family to get my food because "the cooks wanted to get the egg just right" (my guess is they really over cooked it the first time then quickly made another pie). my daughter ordered the spaghetti which took "al dente" to a whole new level. none of us could bite through it. we would have sent it back but our waitress was m.i.a. when we were leaving, we heard another waitress tell her table that katie was on her honeymoon. she has a great concept, but i hope this is not the norm when she is away (or there!). if so, her staff is killing her restaurant. wish i'd spent $20 at dewey's instead of $100 at katie's. as a private chef, i realize my expectations might be higher than the norm, but i felt completely ripped off tonight. had the staff been apologetic and nice, i totally would have let it slide. maybe if they had brought my husband and i both glasses of wine that we ordered instead of making us share one, i wouldn't be so upset.

"lunch special" should be the "ripe-off special" !!!. can we all agree that a lunch special is a smaller portion than the same item on the dinner menu, and it comes with a corresponding lower price...

with that in mind...

the "lunch special" is designed and priced for customers no smarter than a bag of hammers! management is clearly looking for the "ladies that lunch" crowd and others that do not really think about getting a reasonable value for your dollar...

the "special" is $13.95 and includes one (1) 6" pizza and one (1) salad at 1/2 size. period. oh. i forgot... you get a glass of water, as well... add in tax and tip and you are around $18...for lunch !!!

oh, you can add morel mushrooms (remember, it's a 6" pizza) for $4.

you can get a 1/2 pint of beer for $3, which i like. it is nice to have a little beer at lunch but not a full pint sometimes. almost all their beers are $5, two or three at $6, and a stella will hit you for an ridiculous $8... i would prefer that their 1/2 pint pricing would be simple and fair...1/2 of the full pint price. what would be wrong with that? would that really be so hard to do? instead, the $3 price makes me feel taken advantage of. it is a "deal', if i order a stella, it is a "fair" price if i order one of the $6 beers, and i'm "overpaying" if i order a $5 beer..

almost all of their other food items have food pricing in full dollar amounts...$18...$16...$15...etc... with a price of $13.95, rather than $14, doesn't seem like management is being a bit sneaky...?

this was my first visit and i doubt i will be back.

the pizza was tasty, as was the salad, but i left with a sour taste in my mouth and a lighter wallet...

come on, katie, rock hill is not clayton...that is a given, but, that does not mean we are stupid !!!

great food, high price. trendy pizza place with creative flavor concoctions. neat ambiance. the only hiccup was the price. more than i thought was appropriate considering the portions.

if you're looking for real authentic italian cuisine this is the place to go. as someone who just got back from italy, i'm telling you this place is one of the best places to get legit italian food. cannot gush enough about the heirloom and burrata salad, pizza is phenomenal, and the zeppole style donut desert makes your toes curl!!! love this place

i was very impressed with katie's new restaurant. they were very accommodating of my multiple allergies (gluten, peanuts & flax) and even modified one of their most popular appetizers so i could enjoy it! they have a great variety of beers & ciders on tap, amazing food & very friendly staff. a great atmosphere for families, young professionals for a happy hour & date night. loved it!

extremely disappointing!. i had one of my top 5 worst restaurant experiences at the manchester katie's location tonight. i waited 30 minutes with my friend for our table, then over an hour for our food. when it came, the kid's pasta was literally raw. we had to send it back. they made snide comments about it and that just got to me as we were sitting there dealing with the hungry children who should have been eating by then (we had been there almost 2 hours!). we had to ask for silverware twice. my entree was ok, my friend's had an olive pit that could have cracked her tooth and was nothing special for $18. they didn't really care that we were having a horrible experience until they noticed i was logging onto urbanspoon on my iphone to write a review because i was so angry so they comped our meal. i have other choices in restaurants and my time is too valuable to spend going to an establishment that ruins my evening and my free time and makes my children and my friend's children miserable because the service is that bad. i live in kirkwood and this place won't make it if they don't correct this service and food issue. i would suggest that families avoid this place as it is not kid friendly.

a great place for a good meal. highly recommend getting a few pizzas and pastas for the table and sharing amongst a group. the kup's egg pizza is one of my favorites. also, don't overlook the desserts.

st. louis' new italian gem. katies new location did not disappoint on saturday evening. truly unique italian fare in a hip new location. we shared the bucatini pasta (infused with arugula) and served with pancetta, english peas, parmigiano reggiano, and a farm egg cooked in to the olive oil drizzle. this was truly amazing, not your typical creamy carbonara. this was a light approach with perfectly blended flavors. it doesn't hurt that katie herself was front and center in her pasta creating "lair"!

we also had the fig, butternut squash, and pancetta pizza, this with a nice reduced balsamic vinegar glaze over the top. the beer selection was great, including some local favorites and a well selected chalk board selection of seasonal brews. we didn't order wine but the prices and selection looked reasonable with some nice house selections all the way up to a reserve barolo.

i wish katie and her team the very best. we will be back...often.
