karma indian cuisine and lounge

staff is very friendly and provided excellent service! food was outstanding. i ordered the chicken curry and it exceeded my expectations. will definitely be back!

nice to have an indian restaurant close by.. it's decent fare. not always consistently great, but their tikka masala is a comfortavle choice and goes well with naan or rice

you can look at all my reviews, my bad reviews are always based on bad food and bad service. if it was one off mistake it should not be dinged in the review. but karma definitely needs a jolt to push up their food quality and service. 
this restaurant is just two blocks away from prometric testing center in puyallup. since my wife had her exam at prometric, we had to pick an india restaurant close by. and landed here. my experience was definitely not the best at karma. 

positives :  
1. they do cover a good variety of standard indian food menu ( do not expect exotic dishes, which is pretty much the same in most of the indian cuisine). 
2. only a select set of indian restaurants serve alcohol and this is one such place , with a good bar and accompaniments with indian food. 
3. not a very high end restaurant, so reasonable price.
4. they do check spice level with every customer in the range of 1-5
negatives
1. we ordered a mango lassi and lemonde. the mango lassi we ordered was deep yellow in color , which is so unusual. too much of added color , a single sip of it , my tongue and mouth was all yellow in color.  when asked - the simple response from them - it is just mango pulp added. definitely this is not mango lassi. the lemonade did not have any taste of lemon. the lemonade was also in drain . one good thing - they just cancelled the lassi . i have attached the picture of the yellow (mango) lassi, definitely no filters in the photo.
2. chole and poori - not the best dish to try at karma. chole was definitely not made well. the poori was so thick.
3. customer service was not one of the best, they just go by the checklist of work item , and they seem very understaffed as well which also could be the reason for bad service. 
karma - bad karma ,and definitely not in my list of places to visit again.

yum! yum! yum!. delicious food, great, friendly family staff, always an amazing experience for the palate. my daughter and i love the vegetarian dinner for 2 (it will easily feed 4) such interesting depth of flavors with everything we have ordered......the naan and the rice pudding are amazing! and we are lucky enough to have it so close, here in puyallup!

best place to eat on south hill

the best in the west. i've been all over the us and love indian food. karma is absolutely awesome. we eat there sometimes three times a month. we take all our visiting friends as well as our five daughters there. authentic indian food and authentic indian owners and employees. if you want great atmosphere, food, and service go there. it is our favorite restaurant in washington. enjoy

love it!. i go to karma all the time and frequent the to go option :) my favorite is the chicken mango curry but the korma is also delicious!!! it's so so good! all my favorite curry dishes are at karma

i love you! i usually always get the tiki marsala with chicken (red based, acidic tomatoes add a sharpness to it) and saag with chicken (creamy and lots of spinach). i get both 4 star- just enough to get your nose running. i went with a friend for like my 5th time, he usually doesn't like spicy and only had a slight bose drip. i have gone with another who ordered 32 stars- cook had to witness that one, and he ate it all. he now consistently gets 22 stars and feels good with that number. naan bread is good to get in addition to the rice, used for dipping pleasure- the garlic and cilantro is good and so is the cheesy one.

authentic. yes, service can be slow. but it is worth the wait. i love the spices and herbs. indian food is yummy!

exquisite!. spices were exquisite. flavors were well blended and presentation was simple, but elegant. preparations were straightforward, the ingredients are clearly first-rate. excellent environment as well - authentic indian music. hands down, the best indian in the greater puget sound area.

fine dining. we have dined at karma for both lunch and dinner in the past 10 days. the food and service were excellent for both dining experiences. we were promptly greeted and seated with a smile. the food was hot and presentation was good. each entree (four in all) tasted different, but in all cases, was excellent. i think we have found another ethnic restuarant to add to our favs. and for the price .... a great value.

crappy food stupid service. they tried. this white person likes fresh food. the samosas would bounce on a concrete floor. i was taken there on my 60th birthday. just wanted a cup of simple tea heated in milk with a little sugar. the guy wouldnt make it for me. he said indians don't drink cha like that. my favorite dish is mutter paneer.. it was the worst thing ive ever had. not too many peas. just a bunch of cream sauce. the paneer wasnt rotten though. this place is just a bar for non indians really bad karma-- i felt like i deserved the "bad vibes" i was fitting perhaps. frank p.s. just too darned expensive also

i love this restaurant!. my boyfriend and i love to eat there. we always have the chicken tika masala w/naan bread & rice. the sauce is so delicious we could just "drink it". great service and its always very clean.

no hair nets! :(. i've been wanting to try puyallups version on authenic indian food for quite some time. i finally got a major craving and wow! i get a nasty surprise in the first couple of bites. a long curley black hair. yuck!! from what i could taste, it was under spiced and not alot of flavor either. i've had way better in olympia at mefil, try it out people.

awesome mango curry! and asked for 10 stars hot and they brought it on with ghost chili too! definitely will be regulars for sure!
