expensive. the chicken sandwich was small and a bit greasy. it had great taste. the salad was over dressed. loud inside. outside was not well shaded on a hot day. pastries looked great, but the long line made it hard to buy one

yumm!!. way too many things to choose from, but i finally settled on a blackberry sour cream muffin. i'm only in town for 3 more days, but i'm definitely going back every morning!

great place to try something new. amazing!! we go there every weekend after our bike ride and get filled up with all of their delicious sandwiches, salads, and deserts. everything is very tasty and very fresh, and they have something new and exciting every week, so you can eat what you already know you love, or you can be adventurous and try something else.the atmosphere is also very good, there are a lot of seats inside and outside depending on where you want to sit. everything is kept very clean and waiters/waitresses are very quick to clean up making it even more enjoyable for you.

whoaaaa!. the turkey sandwich at karen's is not your mother's turkey san.
karen makes her's on a sweet potato biscuit. yummmmmmmmmm.
and, the turkey is the real thing.

i went here not knowin what to expect and i was happy to say that this place has a fantastic breakfast menu usually. and they always have great coffee and delicious pastries. check this place out if your in the area espicially for breakfast! highly recommend it!

i had heard so much about this place and was wanting to go for some time now. so i finally made it there yesterday and was incredibly dissapointed. i had their pumpkin soup and it was so bland. i had their quinoa salad and it was ok but not exciting or special in any way. also their staff did seem a little apathetic, like they were bored to be there. wouldn't recommend the place and probably won't be back.

i have has the pleasure of eating at karen's bakery cafe' several times over the past five months while attending classes nearby. everything i've experienced has been top-shelf, from the people to the hot morning coffee to the delicious lunch items. the one drawback to such a wonderful place is that it gets busy, really busy, at lunchtime. my most lunch experience included the ham and cheese panini, which is off the charts. outdoor seating is available, with a good mix of shady and sunny spots. i highly recommend karen's, and will be back as long as my class is held in folsom.

pretty amazing!. my work recently had a party catered by this restaurant, and i have to say, this is like gourmet taking it to another level. every single thing they served was out of this world, perfectly prepared with rich flavors. the service is also nothing short of amazing! they also have really pretty cakes if you need one specially made or even just need to grab one in a pinch and want to impress your friends.

no bagels?.......really?......like seriously? bagels are a vital breakfast food to me and many others. c'mon guys.... you're better than that

seriously??. i just visited this bakery and was incredibly disappointed by the service. i ordered food and had to wait thirty minutes for my order to come. while i was waiting everyone at my table who ordered after me had already been served their food and finished eating. the staff was less than understanding when i complained about the wait time. in fact, they were rude.

excellent breakfast & lunch selections. i've been going to karen's bakery for several years after a long run for breakfast or just meet friends for lunch. i wish they were open on sundays but i try to get my fix on the saturday mornings or afternoon for their wonderful food. terrific dessert for after your meal or just drop by for a take out. i highly recommend it if you are in the old historic downtown folsom area. you can walk it off after the great meal around the lake. :-)

hot spot for bike riders. this spot has nailed it for being on the american river trial and catering to bike riders... it is right next to a bike shop and has amazing food with great portions. it has become a favorite stopping spot. the salads (which you can get a sampler plate of 3 different ones!) are my favorites.

awesome. the employees are great, very friendly and helpful. i love the variety and the breakfast on saturdays is terrifc. my compliments to the chef ! the pastries are good as well as the chocalate area. i still have lots to try.
