it might be agoodthing that we live quite a distance from this little cute malaysian eatery, or you may find us here every weekend. the place is next to the rail-way station, parking is never a problem for us. the food is authentic, generous and reasonably priced. staff is friendly too. we have been here four times and always happy with our meals. we tried their nasi lemak, wan tan hor, laksa, prawn mee, satay, pandan chicken, curries, roti, curry puffs.. you name it, they all good. they have quite an extensive range of drinks too, my fav is their horlick. they allow doggies too so that's a big plus for an asian eatery. highly recommend to others for an affordable yet delicious meals!

the curry sauce here is amazing, sooo delicious. teamed with the roti it's very moorish. the chicken curry is the best, it's a bit hard to eat with the bones as you want to keep dipping it in to get all the sauce. the beef rendang is also great. portions are single serve but agoodsize that you are not overfull. tofu salad is also verygoodbut alot of raw onion! while an expensive takeaway for the area it's well worth it for the quality.

the zomato lists have been agoodcompass in deciding new places to try. this place came up on the list and although it was a bit far, decided to give it a go.

the restaurant is built into a train station which is super wacky but love a bit of quirkyness. ordered the nasi goreng, beef rendang nasi lemak, roti, pandan chicken and lamb claypot.

gonna go right out of the gate and say the nasi goreng was meh. the style was a bit too tomatoey and wet so just didn't really hit. the rest of the food was great. special mention to the roti and rendang.

incredibly convenient location given it is right at the glen eden train station with on street and station car parks. inside and outside seating available.

service is fairly quick and staff are polite and professional. food is consistently delicious and well made. i recommend the hainanese chicken noodle (delicious!), sweet and sour (decent chunks of meat brilliantly battered) or the chicken curry with roti (the roti is consistently soft and melt-in-your-mouth delicious).

i would not recommend the chicken in pandan leaves (entree) as the flavour was lacking or the nasi lemak (normally my go to) as i do not believe the price is reflective of the serving size.
generally a great place to eat out and one of the fewgoodwest auckland malaysian eateries.

i love the premises, it is very unique in the old station of glen eden, the hospitality is also very good.
this time i ordered fried kwetiau which i'd give excellent feedback it has a very nice smell and smooth rice noodle. second menu i ordered was sambal fried rice which was on the chef board at that time, unfortunately i'd say this is not for me. the rice too wet and sticky (probably they use fresh cooked rice) and the smell of the sambal was notgoodeither, the taste was plain although i tried to add some more sambal it did not help. the sambal taste weird. the third menu i tried was lo mie, the soup wasgoodalthough it is not thick enough for me, but the noodle does not tastegoodfor me. i probably would try other menu sometimes and absolutely will buy the fried kwetiau again.

kampung style, ka-pow's it!

got lunch takeaway on sunday.
place was humming with predominantly malaysian folk, always agoodsign.

nice to get food from a cheap eats place that generally lives up to the review hype.

ordered malaysian style sambal vege with rice, and kampung mee (dry noodles with pork, prawn..).

verygoodflavours.

did not regret my decision to try this place out, which is relatively rare for cheap eats.

we had lunch here for the first time and the food was very impressive! authentic malaysian/chinese flavours andgoodprice for the meals! we had the lunch special and the flavours were yum! a bit odd with location behind train station but didn’t bother us. it’s better than a lot of malaysian places in cbd. will be back again for sure!
