definitely worth a try!. we were too tired to drive to darra for our usual asian fix so we decided to try out this place. we have heard good reviews from friends and acquaintances so we thought we should find out for ourselves if what we have been hearing are indeed true.
as soon as we entered through the automatic front doors and had a whiff of the woody smell coming from the well varnished staircase, we knew this was going to be a good experience, to say the least. the restaurant itself is on the second floor so we had a choice between taking the stairs or the elevator. we decided to take stairs which, by the way, were elegant and broughtbackdistinctly good memories of fairmont hotel in san francisco, california. but that's another story. :)
we were greeted by an asian lady and were promptly ushered to our table. there were only three other tables that were occupied, which was understandable because we came in on a sunday evening.
we didn't know what to expect when we were handed the menu. the food selection was for, lack of a better word, good. it has been a while since we went to a korean or japanese restaurant, and we didn't feel like being adventurous so we just kept it safe and just went for the pork belly barbecue combo which we had to cook ourselves on the grill that was in the middle of the table.
the barbecue was tasty, although it would have been better if it was bit more salty like the korean barbecue that i have so gotten used to. i am guessing that the taste was adjusted to the australian palate.
we had the chapsal waffle afterwards. it is made out of rice flour so we were curious when we ordered it. we loved it and will definitely order it again when we gobackagain soon!
