the first worst experience in pearl

so when u go to pearl for food or for any other thing u expectation is quite high with regards to service and food .

small cafeterias have better service then this restaurants .
super pricey .
we orderd biryani ( which doesn’t taste like biryani , we felt we are eating colored boiled rice)
butter chicken lasagna ( better then biryani but still , portion was quite less)

regarding drinks - completely tasteless i orderd kareena ice tea, they don’t know the meaning of ice tea it was not ice tea it was a mango slush instead and super thick.

above that it was served after we had our food and then the staff came and snatched the drink from me without even being sorry n said they forget to put sugar in that .

completely disappointed literally a waste of money

hello, i am just writing to say that after attending a dinner at this place i felt terribly sick the next day. the flavor of the food was pretty okay but it was not worth what i felt afterwards. will not be going back again.

the ambience is good decor is fine representation of the food is really unique but the main thing being the taste is good for non veg foods but when it’s a veg dish felt they should really renovate on it .
thanks

great place. awesome food. loved the innovation in the menu. loved the live music also. every thing was just perfect. the reason for my 4 star is just the service. i mean it was decently crowded but taking ages to get the plates or glasses was really irritating. but yet would definitely visit the place again.

my wife and i had dinner here for the first time. staff were friendly, food was served fast, but most importantly the food was delicious! if you looking for some indian food with a twist. this is the place for you. try to reserve as when we left there was no empty tables.

raita salad: was very unique and tasty.

65 pizza: was good and very filling. can be enough for 3 people to share.

butter chicken: was one of the good ones i had in doha.

i will definitely go back again.

very nice ambience , but very cold had to ask for stole. food is so nice and dangerously delicious. samosa chat is so interesting and a must try. biryani is very nice and so amazingly presented.

water glasses were stinky smelled of egg so we asked them to give disposable.

goleguppa shots are amazing. they don’t give outdoor seating before 5.

food for the body is not enough. there must be food for the soul! 🌶🇮🇳🧡💚

last friday, after a beautiful day with family, we decided to dine @jwalaqatar
having heard so much about this place and many mixed reviews, i was excited and intrigued to try it for myself.

we ordered the following ~
🍴 🅵🅾🅾🅳🍴
loco pani puri
fried potato takiya
dal makhni
raste ka tikka paratha
wow pow sliders
omg butter chicken lasagna
kutubminar sharwarma
cheese naan
🍹 🅳🆁🅸🅽🅺🆂 🍹

wow! i have to say that the food was pretty amazing. the flavours were wonderful and full of depth. the spice was just right and the colourful, fun and unique presentation was spot on!!
the drinks were flavourful and their names, so quirky 😆🤗

we left with smiles on out faces and our stomachs!🤣😜
yes, we will definitely be returning and would recommend to others 👍🏼

with the weather being so amazing these days, we decided to dine outdoors. of course, i couldn’t resist taking a quick tour inside to check out the interior and boy i’m glad i did! it’s fun, traditional and colourful! i loved the themed art/ paintings scattered throughout👌🏼

🆃🅷🅰🅽🅺 🆈🅾🆄 @jwalaqatar for the fun and memorable dining experience! 💚🤗

it is an amazing place to experience indian food and they have twisted & spiced things up a bit (wink) things a bit so food are exciting than you expect. (i was expecting some south indian but nah, not their fault, probably i should blame it on my genes for being stupid)

staff was friendly and very helpful - highly recommend to make a reservation before you go though because the place was packed.

prices of course are bit high - but cannot complain either.

oh and i was searching for the tuk-tuk but couldn't see it, guess they have removed it. sigh!

with the expected crowd on a thursday night.. we waited patiently for our call. we were disappointed with te service.. we had asked for 5 pax table.. and the plates n cutleries were kept for 4 and had to request for the extra set. we were served with water.. and they dint provide us with glass. and on asking.. they served us in disposable glass.!! food is not bad.. they were fast in getting the orders.. the new menu is fine. the lollylops flavours r gud n differnt.. dint like te butter chicken lasagne as i dint gt te taste of butter chicken and it too creamy and cheesy . breads got hard within a few minutes. anyways.. to travel all te way to pearl to get a good dining experience.. isnt worth it at all to come here! mite not come here again.. atleast on a weekend for sure!

i went here with my family after a friend said she was "highly impressed" by their new menu. almost all the dishes she had tried were from the non-veg options, however we ordered only veg dishes. even though we went pretty late on a sunday night, i was surprised by how crowded the place was. we had to wait ten minutes before we were seated. the ambiance was quite nice; the interior reminded me of desi dhaba and they had live entertainment in the form of a man who sang classic indian songs. we ordered the mumbai cocktail soup, the khushi khushi pakura, the kurkura sandwich, kishani bazar with naan and for dessert, we got the rasmalai tres leches.

the soup looked beautiful with three different colored layers. after mixing it up, it was creamy and thick with a taste somewhere between lentil and tomato soup. we enjoyed the soup quite a bit.

the khushi khushi pakura was just the basic onion pakora, but it tasted amazing because it was fresh, crispy and not greasy at all. it was served with a sweet jaggery chutney and the sprinkling of chaat masala on the pakoras gave it a nice salty flavor.

the kurkura sandwich reminded me of a bread pakora and while i had high hopes for this dish, it was the one i liked least among all that we ordered. not only was the sandwich incredibly greasy, it had absolutely no flavor. i had to pour some of the chutney that was served with the onion pakoras onto my sandwich just to make it have some taste.

we ordered the kishani bazar because among the veg curry options, it was the only 'unique' curry that we hadn't seen on the menu of any other restaurant. it was a cashew nut based curry with (i think) zucchini, tomato, mushrooms and eggplant. the curry was a bit on the bland side, but after adding some salt to it, it was quite nice and we enjoyed eating it with the naan.

finally, the dessert. the rasmalai tres leches seemed to be the most popular dessert there as i had seen almost every table order one of these. and after trying it myself, i could definitely see why. it's basically a milk cake topped with cream and banana slices with a heap of soan papri on top, with saffron and edible flower petals as toppings. it tasted absolutely amazing and was just the right amount of sweet. this was definitely our favorite dish of the night.

overall, i thought jwala was a great place to have dinner. their presentation is very chic and while it was a bit on the pricy side, compared to the other indian restaurants in the pearl, i'd still consider it reasonably priced. i'd definitely recommend you to go try out this place at least once.

the ambience is good and the staff is very friendly. live music adds to the experience and the singer & the team are very good.
i was disappointed with the choice of vegetarian options in the main course.
except dal i could not find any vegetarian dish available.
i hope to see some vegetarian options added when i visit next.
