juvia is not an ordinary spot as it is situated on the top of a building that offers a panoramic view of miami beach. this breezy location serves up a fusion of japanese, french and peruvian cuisine that offers flavors that are far from shy. the elevator on the ground floor gave no indication as to what awaited at the top: a luxurious, beautiful restaurant with an assertive injection of purple-amethyst notes as part of the color scheme and a magical wind that at times was soothing, and other times just plain ice-cold. upon arrival, we were offered shawls to shield us from the wind that obviously can get strong enough to warrant this; a nice touch. the menu offered a great variety of dishes so we asked our waiter, daniel, to choose for us. to begin withjuvialemonade & mojito were the choices. the drinks were colorful and refreshing; non-alcoholic versions were also available. salmon nashi ($22) the next dish was the salmon nashi that was made with truffle oil, dry miso and micro arugu

go for a drink and the view, not the food/service. we were looking forward tojuviabecause we had heard good things but we were sorely disappointed. the view is one of the best in miami beach, but everything else falls short.

our group of 7 waited 45 minutes for a table. we made reservations 3 weeks before. that is just bad management. manager arrogant like "we don't need you" attitude.

service was very slow and we had to get up from the table several times to serve ourselves our chilled wine. food was surprisingly sub-par. burrata ($26) was not fresh - hard as a rock. lamb chops ($48) were fatty and too salty. we were there so long waiting that we didn't order dessert.

waited for every aspect of service.

you will see too many other comments similar to this one. for sure, the view is great, but there are many better restaurants. so, go for a drink to start your night.

i travel for business at least once a month, have been to amazing restaurants around the globe, andjuviais one of my favorite restaurants. amazing, amazing, amazing.
