jordan's lobster farms

located on the waterfront, with a view of the long beach bridge, is a casual dining spot known as jordanlobsterfarm. order at the window and take your feast to a picnic table on the patio, or go inside for waiter service.  the menu is the same indoors or outside, with a full service bar on the patio, so the choice is yours.  there is also a retail store, offering fresh fish, prepared dishes, kitchen utensils, and some cute t-shirts.

i had some time to kill after working at jfk and didn't feel like going straight back to my hotel in rockville centre, so i used zomato to find something along the way. i hit on this place and decided to check it out, especially since it seemed to be the off-season for this place; it's right on the water near atlantic beach. i usually shy away from anything listed as "market price" but i decided to be brave and asked about the lobster. i settled on a $24.95 wholelobsterdinner that came with sides, and had a couple of beers to go with it. i thought that was a pretty reasonable price, and i was stuffed after all that. everything tasted great, especially the lobster. i resisted the urge to take some clam chowder back to my hotel, but next time...

food is very good butlobsteris getting very pricey. i think that they could give you a nicer roll than a potato hotdog roll for thelobsterrolls. lobsterwas very fresh.

seafood fix in island park. jordanlobsterfarms has recently expanded it's kitchen operations to include an indoor dining room to complement the outdoor patio. it is not a white tablecloth setting or romantic by any stretch. oddly, the restaurant is behind the retail sales counter and has that tired nautical motif. it does satisfy your lobster, shell fish, and seafood craving. the menu preparations are simple and basic. a unique feature is that dining service begins at 9 am. orderlobsterfor breakfast!
lobsteris the central attraction, steamed, as nature intended. four soups are available. choose new england or manhattan clam chowder,lobsterbisque, or spicy crab. they are all nice starters. beer, wine and soft drinks wash it all down.
dessert is an afterthought, but if you must, the key lime pie has a strong citrus filling that works well enough after a seafood repast. you are cautioned here that it comes straight from the refrigerated display in the retail store.
