this was such a funny place that we stumbled upon. it looks like you've traveled back to 1960. thefoodis good. it's not spectacular but if you need a quick and cheap breakfast this is your place.

thefoodhere is subpar. it took 45 min to get dry, flavorless french toast, the omelette was so-so, thefoodwas barely luke warm and the grits were undercooked and awful. won't be coming back on my next trip to dc. now that i've made it through this "meal", i'm en route to find some goodfoodas i'm still famished due to the skimpy portions.

this place was good. very friendly staff and owner, quick service, well priced. i got the grilled cheese sandwich and it hit the spot. good ole' comfortfoodthat reminds me of back home. i'll be going back often to have a nice hot meal.

i ordered the combo 2 consisting of 1 hot cake, 2 strips of bacon and 1 egg. thefoodis what you would expect from a diner of this sort. comforting, consistent and best of all cheap. a breakfast for two will cost you around $10 plus tip (cash-only). i'd definitely return next time i want to avoid all the mimosas, eggs benedict and strollers crowding barracks row every weekend morning.

great little place in a beautiful neighborhood. if you're touring capital hill, walk the few blocks over for an affordable meal. thefoodhas a home-cooked quality. the staff and atmosphere made me feel like a local. if i was, i'd start each day here.

not enough bang for your buck. people on capitol hill rave about this small diner offering breakfast and lunch options. the staff did not seem interested in your overall experience at all. thefoodportions were very small considering the price. for example- a sausage patty was probably the size of a quarter. they are also cash only. the hot cakes were very good.
