awaiting a well timed opportunity to treat my parents to a lunch at a star hotel, i ended up booking a table here after considering so many other fine dining options.

🚗 valet service was pretty punctual and we were greeted by the staff who guided us to our table.

🪑i had some special request for seating and they obliged. 💚 the seating was comfortable and nothing i can complain with soothing music 🎶 that didn't interrupt our conversations.

🧴 we don't usually get bottles water as star hotels serve good water usually. but they really did take a lot of time and were unbothered to refill. 👎

📖the menu is pretty elaborate with something for everyone. desi dishes with a global twist is the new hit 🎯

🍲 soup : indian halloween 🎃 - roasted pumpkin soup cooked with milk, cream & saffron was really rich and flavorful. we wish it was a tad bit thicker though.

🍥 momos platter : 6 momos w/ 3 different fillings and my family enjoyed it 😄

👨‍🍳 live chaat : 6 pani puris & a tableside live chat prep which isn't very common so we kinda enjoyed the show. the dish was pretty cold from the liquid nitrogen blocking most of the taste.

🍞 breads : we asked for lachcha paratha & hyderabadi sheermal. parantha not quite best. sheermal was delicious 😋

🥘 gravy : dal makhni was delicious but was hardly enough for 2 people. would appreciate if they improved the quantity.

🥘 paneer tikka masala had a strong tinge of sweetness but otherwise the gravy was amazing.

🍫 desserts : the list of desserts seemed really very familiar yet unfamiliar as it was a fusion cuisine.

❣️ saving the best for the last ❣️

⭐ creme brulée with pistachio rose biscotti• blow torched live. tasted very rich and with subtle sweetness, was absolutely fine.

tender coconut 🥥 pudding 🍮 : i'd say it's the best dessert on their menu among the 3 we tried.

overall due to lack of staff, the service was not upto the mark . nevertheless the food/ ambience is amazing.

i really hope they'd work on the scope of improvement.

one of my best dining experiences with family in recent times. the chef and staff were awesome, highly professional and friendly with kids. excellent fusion twists on soups, starters and desserts. loved the himalayan thupka soup, spicy rasa rasam gun powder arancini rice balls, paneer lasagna, delicious tarkari biriyani and hyderabadi shahi tukra

we ordered 2 starters - crispy lotus stem starter and paneer tikka. the lotus stem starter was good and paneer tikka was average.

next we ordered 2 main course dishes- babycorn broccoli korma and bhindi kolhapuri. they were dishes suggested by the staff but both of them were subpar and much below standards. could have gotten much better food at much less price at a local restaurant. food was all about show but nothing much about taste.

a must visit restaurant in chennai with an traditional ambience & very very comfortable atmosphere for a meal with family... soothing background music... all the dishes were simple delicious & quantity was more than sufficient. i loved the malabar paratas with kuruma. my wife loved the appam and thengaipal. mr.ajo took very good care of us & made us feel at home.. thanks to him & the entire staff at j.hind... we had a memrable birthday dinner... thanks once again to team j.hind..

we ordered mostly sea food (platter e.t.c). everything were perfect and each item was explained nicely. and the jar biryani (dindugal style) is the perfect choice. and the finishing dessert coconut pudding is so delicious.

j hind is the place to go if you want to experience authentic flavours of india and fine dining experience. had a great time with my family.

the food was amazing and it was progressively cooked using a lot of modern techniques. the staff were very courteous and helpful. bharath one of the workers thoroughly explained how every dish were made and uma another worker within j. hind helped me understand the blends, flavors and the idea behind every dish. the mental preparation bestowed upon me before ordering the food was almost equal to eating that dish! excellent staffs and great knowledge. food was exotic and different. highly recommend this restaurant not for the taste but for the experience itself. not all the dishes were tasty but it didn’t taste bad either with all the different techniques used for cooking. this is one of the few molecular kitchens in chennai i reckon. i recommend coconut pudding, plain curd (ask for it), pineapple infused in curry leaves, and paneer tikka for its taste.

tarakari biryani - first time saw a special serving biryani ina glass jar taste was good

malai kofta curry was also delicious ...

staff is very friendly and helpful

great food and ambiance!! would surely visit here again .. biryani and butter chicken are must try!!!
