jasmins in lakemba is one of the best lebanese restaurants i have been to by far. i've been coming here for years and the taste and serving sizes have always been good and consistent. the only thing that has changed about this restaurant over the years is the price. the mixed plates here used to be really cheap although they're still reasonably priced despite the price rise. the hummus and baba ganoush here is delicious and i love how crispy the falafels are. they always bring out fresh bread and pickles to enjoy with the meal as well as small servings for tahini and garlic sauce.
if youre ever in lakemba and looking for delicious lebanese food, jasminsis the place to go.

this week, we will review a lebanese restaurant that people talked about (at least in my circles). the restaurant name isjasminsand it is located in lakemba. the restaurant itself is far from the words ‘fancy’ and ‘glamorous’. they are more like ‘down to earth’ kind of restaurant. apparently, their falafel is quite famous and it is not something that i would normally order. luckily, they give two falafels in every mixed plate. and i have to agree, they are the best i’ve ever tasted in sydney.

a good felafel is hard to find. arguably sydney's best are atjasmins- the original, independent and best, found in lakemba.jasminsis a welcoming, authentic gem in the cultural melting pot that is lakemba in south west sydney.  haldon st near lakemba st. photo: willunga wino surrounded by a fijian island restaurant, indian grocers, halal butchers, pakistani restaurants, and manoosh bakeries, jasminsis clean, neat & pretty with faux marble walls and decorative ceiling patinas. each table is stocked with the house produced olive oil, and vinegar, to add as you please. inviting interior. photo: willunga wino there is a hand washing station tucked into the corner behind the drinks cabinets - handy (excuse the pun) as this is food for sharing and using fingers. the same manager/waiter gentleman, has worked here since we have been coming, around 8 years. he runs a tight ship, promptly brings menus, clears tables, and wipes them clean with a friendly demeanour.  decorative stucco. photo:

jasmins has to be my favourite lebanese restaurant. atjasminsyou are guaranteed delicious and authentic lebanese food and you will definitely be stuffed! i always go for the mixed plate so i get some of everything! the mixed plate consists of falafel, hommus, baba ghannouj, tabouli as well as your choice of meat. my favourite is the standard mixed plate ($15) with kafta, shish kebab, chicken and kebbeh. so good, especially if you love variety!! the falafel is particularly a standout, it is crispy and crunchy on the outside but its contents are so light and fluffly.  a side of chips is a must when you have lebanese food. all mains and mixed plates also come with complimentary plate of pickled salad, tempers, chillies, olives, tomatoes, onion and mint, basket of bread and of course, you can't forget the garlic sauce!!jasminsis my go-to lebanese restaurant. i can always count on value for money, delicious food and fast service. however, be prepared to wait for a table on a busy friday

excellent food, authentic experience.jasminsis your authentic lebanese food experience. do not expect a fancy restaurant & comfortable chairs but do expect fine quality kebab platters, good falafel, excellent garlic dip, unlimited lebanese bread and a passionate waiter. all in all, it's a great experience. highly recommended.
