they take customers for granted; overpriced crap. curt hostess who wouldn't seat us even though there were plenty of tables available (this was 9pm on a tuesday). was about to leave but heard that this is the only decentplacefor miles. asked to speak with manager, who according to the hostess was a male ("he is in this evening"). waited 15 minutes for waiter to pay us attention and for "manager" to come. "manager" was a poorly dressed female in wrinkled cotton high-waisted dress who didn't introduce herself and only robotically apologized. seemed like she's only standing in for the real manager. offered nothing by way of making up for the hostess' rudeness, no check-in throughout evening by either stand-in manager, real manager or hostess. steak was dry, at even medium rare, and waiter didn't even offer sauces. veggies consisted of a combination of overcooked and undercooked/raw stringy string beans. i would have walked out had i been alone and i would have not eaten half the plate had i not just endured a 12-hour plane trip. no one thanked us for our business. they clearly take their customers for granted. would not go back for overpriced crap (in management, hospitality, and food).

should have checked reviews first. went for dinner to meet 2 new employee's. waited 35 minutes to be seated even tho there were empty tables. the waitress came over and without a smile mentioned the special. we saw her again over 15 minutes later when she asked us if we wanted a cocktail. we didn't and 2 asked for water and the other two iced tea. we could see her disgust in this. about 10 minutes later our "drinks" came and she walked away. now we were all watching the time. 17 minutes later she came to ask what we would like as entree's, of course she never asked about appetizer's. we ordered our meals, my steak was rare when it was ordered medium. my wife ordered a salad that had brown lettuce. the other two meals were "okay" they said. in the end we paid the bill, i left no tip which in the last 20 years i have not done and vowed never to return. a very over ratedplaceto dine. sad, it could be good

best resturant in issaquah. this is my favorite restaurants in town. my wife and i frequent there quite regulatory as we live just down the street and i honestly can say i have ever had any i did not like. my favorite go to meal is their jak's burger with blue cheese and an order of sweet potato fires especially for the price. we also love bacon and bacon wrapped scallops are to die for.... although i do wish there were more on the smaller order vs large order because i could eat them all. their wedge salad is also amazing, but be prepared its huge.

if you are there for a special occasion their prime porterhouse is to die for. i went for their larger cut and i honestly can say that was the best, most tender, juicy steak i have ever had. it beats any others like el gaucho, ruth chris, metropolitan grill and even morton's. my wife always asks for a bite.... then another... to the point where she has just started ordering the smaller cut on even though she cant eat it all and we take it home and make the best steak sandwiches with it the next day. we order their lobster mac and cheese to split as an appetizer (even though it is a main course dish). their brussel sprout appetizer is a must too (gotta have some veggies) add one of their finer bottles wine to your meal and you will have an experience you will never forget. that is a lot of food, but its worth it and you will have left overs to enjoy and believe me its worth every penny.

their brunch is the best in town and when we can make it down i go for the crab benedict. its funny my wife and i will order the same thing (mainly because i wont share because it really good)
i wished they served breakfast or brunch every day because a quality breakfastplaceis really what issaquah is lacking.

bottom line thisplaceis a must if you have never eaten there (once you do its hard not to keep going back and back), have guest in town or want to celebrate a special occasion.

horrified!!. went to jak's in issaquah for a dinner meeting because i heard the food was increditble! was not informed of the no seat until all the people in the party have arrived policy until it was too late. however the extremely rude and disrespsectful hostess had zero problem letting us know about their "policies". this just started what would be follwed by without a doubt the worst service i have ever experienced in my 36 years of being alive. i can honestly say that i have never written a review in my life but after my experience at this joke of an establishment has left me no choice but to tell my story and hopefully i can save the next sucker from coming in and contributing to a company that truly has no clue how to deliver proper customer service! i think because the restaraunt is located in a small town there is a sense of arrogance that comes along with the idea that you are the best thing in town (obviously far from reality). after oredering appetizer myself and the party of 8 business men and women gave the menus back to our server and we were asked "so your all just ordering appetizers?" again as rude of a comment as i have ever heard at aplacewith the prices and expectations of this place.. we explained to her "no we are ordering food but we have decided what we would like to have". still kicking myself for not leaving right that very minute. the food, once it finally arrived was undercooked (no i did not get asked to cut into my 60 dollar piece of meat to make sure it was cooked to my specifications) but i did not send it back as the time it took to arrive was simply ridiculous. after eating our meal and being neglected by even sizzler standards we made our final mistake!! we ordered desert which would end up taking another 45 minutes to arrive!! the simple truth is i am a very busy guy not just at work but at home and the reason i am writing this review is to hopefully save the next group of people interested in dining at thisplaceto truly think again. i do not get time to myself often and i can truly say that dining at thisplacedid nothing but ruin my mood!! i wish i could take the $900 dollars i foolishly donated to a company i have no desire to return to. i pray that the terrible service comes back on thisplaceten fold as their attitude and demeanor just simply do not cut it. hopefully people start realizing that despite what jak"s thinks there are tons of really good steakhouses out there with similar prices that would treat a party such as mine like gold and in our economy hopefully jak's can learn what true customer service really means.. as big a thumbs down as can be possible!!!

don't listen to any of them!. anyone who says anything but the highest praise for jak's grill is very mis-informed. i am a steak fanatic and my favorite restaurants are jak's grill and the metropolitan grill, and despite being half the price, jak's is every bit the big league steak house the the met is. there are 10's if not 100's of thousands of residents in issaquah and sammamish that would wholeheartedly agree, which is why there is about a 60-90 minute wait to get in after 5pm every day they are open. the steaks are the highest quality and grilled perfectly. the sides are incredible! i could go just for the roasted vegetables, i kid you not. these guys take pride in everything they put on a plate, and they believe in the highest value - shown by their super reasonable prices. are you looking for an awesome steak house, these guys are downright cheap! have you every eaten at an awesome steakhouse, because 98% of them have awesomely high prices (i know, i'm a steak fanatic)! not jak's! i have lost count how many times i have been back, and how many people i have taken there who have adopted it as their favorite steak house. oh yeah, and don't forget the people. they don't rush you at jak's, it's an experience. the beautiful old wooden decor, the thick wood handled steak knives, the low lighting sparkling off the crystal clean stemware, the warm delicious bread and rich soft butter, the tall ice cold beer, the voluptuously fresh and crispy salads, the life and buzz takingplacethroughout the intimate setting, the care in taking your order and delivering it to the right person without question, the huge sizzling steak surrounded by lusciously seasoned roasted veggies and the so intensely flavored garlic mashed potatoes or crispy potato cakes......aaahhhh!!!! don't get me started on dessert!
in all seriousness, if you are looking for a casual dinner out and you have $20 a person to spend, yeah, jak's not your place. if you are looking for an amazing dinner of steak or salmon and a wonderful experience, look no further. it's a hometown gem, and you won't regret it!

it may be cliché.... 5 stars -

this is one of the best steakhouses i have ever been to. i have been here about a half dozen times now when i come for business in the area.

service is very good to great. the food is excellent to superb. i think the atmosphere is kind of kitschy too for a steakhouse. the 40 oz. porterhouse steak i had on my last trip was insanely good. i nearly ate the whole thing.

it is definitely pricey, but i cannot recommend thisplaceenough. my only caveat, is they don't take reservations. so prepare to wait. but it's worth it.

competent but very noisy. really just too noisy aplaceto enjoy dinner. to my mind, a great steakhouse is ambience as well as food. thisplaceoffered a pretty decent menu, and good food. service was a bit better than average but something about the acoustics or how they've arranged the tables makes it far too loud for a pleasant dinner.

don't take a date there or anyone with whom you wish to hold a conversation. that said, the food was decent - but you'll be better served by going to one of the "big-name" steakhouses where you can hear yourself think.

oh yes.. i should mention that this review is for the issaquah location. i would try one of the other locations before giving up on jak's entirely.
