don't listen to any of them!. anyone who says anything but the highest praise for jak's grill is very mis-informed. i am a steak fanatic and my favorite restaurants are jak's grill and the metropolitan grill, and despite being half the price, jak's is every bit the big league steak house the the met is. there are 10's if not 100's of thousands of residents in issaquah and sammamish that would wholeheartedly agree, which is why there is about a 60-90 minute wait to get in after 5pm every day they are open. the steaks are the highest quality and grilled perfectly. the sides are incredible! i could go just for the roasted vegetables, i kid you not. these guys take pride in everything they put on a plate, and they believe in the highest value - shown by their super reasonable prices. are you looking for an awesome steak house, these guys are downright cheap! have you every eaten at an awesome steakhouse, because 98% of them have awesomely high prices (i know, i'm a steak fanatic)! not jak's! i have lost count how many times i have been back, and how many people i have taken there who have adopted it as their favorite steak house. oh yeah, and don't forget the people. they don't rush you at jak's, it's an experience. the beautiful old wooden decor, the thick wood handled steak knives, the low lighting sparkling off the crystal clean stemware, the warm delicious bread and rich soft butter, the tall ice cold beer, the voluptuously fresh and crispy salads, the life and buzz takingplacethroughout the intimate setting, the care in taking your order and delivering it to the right person without question, the huge sizzling steak surrounded by lusciously seasoned roasted veggies and the so intensely flavored garlic mashed potatoes or crispy potato cakes......aaahhhh!!!! don't get me started on dessert!
in all seriousness, if you are looking for a casual dinner out and you have $20 a person to spend, yeah, jak's not your place. if you are looking for an amazing dinner of steak or salmon and a wonderful experience, look no further. it's a hometown gem, and you won't regret it!
