twice is more than enough. when i've had less than a stellar experience at a restaurant, especially a locally own one that others seem to like, i'll try again, hoping for a better result -- yeah, i know, insanity. tonight it was this little place near the uncg campus - you gotta try, things may change - or not!

baba ghanouj plate ($3.99) with pita - simply not a version i care for - chunky, oily, and with an under taste i don't like. no reorder!

chicken kabob platter ($7.99) - 2 skewers with greek salad, pita, hommus, and cucumber sauce (tzatziki, i guess) - chicken was a little dry, chewy ( more like sinewy - to many chews to the bite); the greek salad was almost totally devoid of feta cheese, which makes the salad greek; the pita was nice, if a little thick; and the sauce was rather drab. no reorder!

dawali sampler ($8.79) - garpe leaves, taboulih, falafel, spanokipita, sauce & pita. the grape leaves were mushy and greasy; the taboulih was flavorful, but very dry; the falafel was like a dog bone with a mushy center; and the spanokipita was dry, dry, dry. no reorder!

mujaddara plate ($6.99) - lentils & rice, topped with tomato, cucumber, onions, and mint salad - simply an excellent, refreshing dish! i would reorder in a heart beat.

vegetarian platter (&.59) - falafel, hommus, spanokipita, greek salad, tahini, & pita - covered most of these above - tahini was ok, the rest stand as reviewed.

the only think i'd reorder is the mujaddara plate - an excellent salad. nothing else is close to what is offered at several other mediterranean restaurants - and the portions are not great values here.

there is better availale. the food here is just ok, especially when compared to several other mediterranean restaurants in the area, and it is mediterranean, not greek. the prices are not all thatgoodwhen you consider the portion size, but i've seen worse.

the pita is nice, as is the greek salad, and the hummus is decent, but the falafel is not at all good. the gyro is no better than average, and the kabobs and souvlaki items are ordinary.

much better mediterranean food is now available at mythos and taste of troy in greensboro, and grecian corner in winston. service is generally good, except during peak lunch times when uncg is in session - and parking is definitely a problem at those times.
