can't go wrong with a gyro. had the chicken gyro with fries. the cucumber sauce was delicious and flavorful and the thinly sliced chicken made for a perfect combination.

my hubby and i stopped into jacks for a quick lunch. based on the outside i wasn't sure what to expect. once inside there were plenty of open tables but i wasn't sure if i should seat myself or wait. as i walked to a table, a woman yelled that she would take our order at the register. i looked over the menu and decided on the gyro platter which consists of a gyro, side salad and fries.
the gyro was tasty, but mostly bread. the salad with house dressing was delicious! the fries were lacking the greek seasoning that i love so much. i would definitely go back to try the shawarma sandwich and a salad. this place was better than i expected.

twice is more than enough. when i've had less than a stellar experience at a restaurant, especially a locally own one that others seem to like, i'll try again, hoping for a better result -- yeah, i know, insanity. tonight it was this little place near the uncg campus - you gotta try, things may change - or not!

baba ghanouj plate ($3.99) with pita - simply not a version i care for - chunky, oily, and with an under taste i don't like. no reorder!

chicken kabob platter ($7.99) - 2 skewers with greek salad, pita, hommus, and cucumber sauce (tzatziki, i guess) - chicken was a little dry, chewy ( more like sinewy - to many chews to the bite); the greek salad was almost totally devoid of feta cheese, which makes the salad greek; the pita was nice, if a little thick; and the sauce was rather drab. no reorder!

dawali sampler ($8.79) - garpe leaves, taboulih, falafel, spanokipita, sauce & pita. the grape leaves were mushy and greasy; the taboulih was flavorful, but very dry; the falafel was like a dog bone with a mushy center; and the spanokipita was dry, dry, dry. no reorder!

mujaddara plate ($6.99) - lentils & rice, topped with tomato, cucumber, onions, and mint salad - simply an excellent, refreshing dish! i would reorder in a heart beat.

vegetarian platter (&.59) - falafel, hommus, spanokipita, greek salad, tahini, & pita - covered most of these above - tahini was ok, the rest stand as reviewed.

the only think i'd reorder is the mujaddara plate - an excellent salad. nothing else is close to what is offered at several other mediterranean restaurants - and the portions are not great values here.

there is better availale. the food here is just ok, especially when compared to several other mediterranean restaurants in the area, and it is mediterranean, not greek. the prices are not all that good when you consider the portion size, but i've seen worse.

the pita is nice, as is the greek salad, and the hummus is decent, but the falafel is not at all good. the gyro is no better than average, and the kabobs and souvlaki items are ordinary.

much better mediterranean food is now available at mythos and taste of troy in greensboro, and grecian corner in winston. service is generally good, except during peak lunch times when uncg is in session - and parking is definitely a problem at those times.

just good.. food is tasty but a little pricey for the portion size. they keep all the ketchup dispensers at the trash can, which is kind of gross and means if you're not thinking about it you have to get up mid-meal to grab one, also seems like a way to provide less ketchup if people don't see them there. some of the desserts by the register are super tasty, and their fries are always good. its a little cramped, but overall a nice place. not somewhere i go out of my way for, but one of the best options for satisfying a craving for something greasy near uncg.

this place is great! never had a bad experience here. the fries are delicious, and they're pita wraps are amazing. the staff is super warm and friendly. it's fairly inexpensive, but don't expect fast food prices. the place is clean and has a nice atmosphere. first place i've really had greek food, and nothing else compares.

great authentic med. food. i ate out at a nice sit down greek restaurant in the area yesterday, and today this quick sit down spot offered much better good. the spanakopita is one of the best i've had, and the salad had something special in the dressing, great spices. a+

deliciousness. new to the city i used urbanspoon to find a great mediterranean restaurant. jack's corner popped up, and we were glad we did. i had the cheese steak, the meat was tender and the sauce was added just right. my hubby had the double gyro combo. it had enough meat & the bread was just perfect. will def go again, it's not a recurring go to place.

vegetarian platter. it tastes so good, right to the last drop. i always finish mine off, not bad for a $7 meal. even on a hot day, it satisfies without over heating or being too heavy on your stomach.
