jack quinn'sirishpub and restaurant with one of the first restaurants i visited in colorado springs… i'm a fan ofirishpubs in the food therein. jack quinn's didn't disappoint, but it didn't really wow either. there is often live bands, trivia nights, and tuesday at hosts the jaquine's running club which make it a fun and lively venue for meeting with friends as long as you can handle the loud volume.

great atmosphere and decent food. a reliable lean bar for a proper pint of guinness and some fun conversations, jack quinn's is an institution in this town. the old world wood panelled walls and nooks, along with the competent barkeeps, make this place a must visit for both regulars and visitors. the food is excellent, with tasty options like the homemade chips andirishnachos, the richly prepared shepherd's pie, good fish and chips, decent corned beef and cabbage, and a right generousirishbreakfast, replete with bangers, mushrooms, blood sausage and fried tomato. i most recently tried their curried lamb and onions with rice. it's was mild, very tasty, but perhaps a bit one dimensional. maybe if they added cauliflower or a bit more vegetables for a crunchier texture it would be better. that said, the lamb itself was very tender and the curry was evenly balanced. they have live music on occasion, and are typically jammed full on friday and saturday night. it is a wonderfulirishpub.

such a cute and fun place. nice littleirishpub. i had the chicken pot pie...it was good, but i wouldn't say it was the best ever. i stil want to try the shepherds pie, since i've heard such good things. my boyfriend likes the pulled turkey sandwich. i also tried his fries, and i loved them. they had anirishband playing one night...talk about feeling cultured! go check it out!

smithwicksirishdraft beer is pronounced "smidicks". the waitress shared this bit of trivia, so i could soundirish(i am really of welsh background). anyway, i ordered a cup of their cheese soup, and a glass of "smidicks". it arrived with a slice of a devine tasting (a bit dry--perhaps not real fresh), but with the real butter with some honey mixed in, and wonderfully soft, and easy to spread (don't you just hate hard unspreadable butter?) anyway, highly recommend this place if you have the money --no senior discounts, and no military discounts; however, there is a nice sign up high that thanks everyone who helps keep our towns safe. nice touch showing appreciation. oh, and there is no "jack quinn" --that is just a name given to the business by the owners. it does have a nice ring to it becaue i'm told the band at 9 p.m. is worth hearing.

armando lied. drove down this morning to have the "bad ass" breakfast that armando mentioned way back in 2010. guess what? the place is locked up tight. fortunately there was a place next door olive something? great breakfast there that qualifies for "bad ass". don't like the parking meter that have to be fed for 25 cents per fifteen minute of parking. sarasota tried to install parking meters a short time back and the public stopped going to any business with a parking meter out front. quess what ? the city had to put brown bags over the meters, and announce it was o.k. to park without feeding the meters. good idea for colorado springs. already two business establishments willl never see me again because i don't pay to park ever!!!

opted for the salmon sandwich and was not disappointed in the least! there could've been a tad more meat on the ligtly grilled ciabatta, but the combo of roasted red peppers, grilled onions, provolone and pesto mayo was amazing! i chose the fresh (raw) veggies, which was a nice healthy addition. the beer was good; i had harp and a sip of smithwicks...but since those are bothirishbeers, i wouldn't have expected them to taste bad.
it's quite noisy, which is why we chose not to stay fr another round. still, it was a pleasant dinner experience!

great bar, mediocre restaurant.. i go to jack quinn's rather frequently. but i never go there specifically for the food. it's good and i'm never grimacing as i order; the fish and chips and shepherd's pie are both quite good. but they're overpriced for what they are and you have to go downtown to get them, so you're sitting in the heart of the greatest restaurants in the city.

food is good but a tad overpriced. the beer selection is fantastic and reasonably price, and the service goes anywhere from best-you've-had to virtually non-existent.

still, thursdays are a blast with the liveirishmusic, although you'll want to get there early to enjoy the fun as the place gets packed. and mondays are a great night out as well; they do trivia and there's nothing better than trivia and beer. very fun night!

the food isn't worth the trip, but jack quinn's offers other things to make up for that.

hits the spot. i'll start by saying there are better restaurants in colorado springs. that being said , i love this place. food is good and reasonably priced. service can be spotty but this place can get busy, real busy.
i have said in past reviews that people are usually dish specific at restaurants. my favorite dish here is the pub classic of bangers and mash. i have had bangers at lots of other places and jack's are as good as they come. washed down with a pint of??? so hard to decide.
the shepard's pie is okay and the fish and chips are great. one my favorites is the boxty offerings. guinness beef boxty; tender beef tips braised in guinness stout then wrapped in anirishboxty. topped with cream sauce and blue cheese crumbles. and the seafood boxty; roasted salmon, shrimp, alaskan cod and shrimp with diced tomato, broccoli and herb cream cheese wrapped in anirishboxty. topped with tarragon cream sauce
sometimes i just like to stop in, sit at the bar with a pint and pub chips and dip. ffried potato wedges with mary rose and curry sauce.
irish bands/musicians play often to add to the atmosphere. great place to hang out and meet friends.

go for the ambience, not the food. i have to say i'm disappointed, and i never thought i'd have anything negative to say about this place. and let me say up-front that i am not a compulsive complainer who enjoys trashing restaurants. naturally, the staff at jack quinn pour a great pint in a charming, authentic setting. it is a great place to hang out, but don't waste your money on theirishstew, nor the shepherd's pie. we arrived on our "recent" visit (january) with high hopes. to quote my husband, his stew tasted like it "came from a can." the meat was plentiful, but upon closer inspection, was just 80% globs of fat. the edible portion of beef was maybe 2 ounces. it lacked flavor overall, and simply looked to be a sorry, lazy effort on the kitchen's part. my shepherd's pie was a little better - decent flavor, but just sloppy and certainly not worth the $9.25. we love to go out to eat, but we also love creating things in our own kitchen - we should have eaten in that day. maybe the kitchen was having an "off day." maybe their other dishes are amazing, and we're missing out, but we're not taking any risks. it was really that bad.

i went there for lunch on a sunday, ordered someirishsausage and it came with delicious potatoes and steamed vegetables on the side. the food was great and in the middle of our meal the band started playing traditionalirishmusic. it was very entertaining and i felt like i was in an actualirishpub. i would definitely go back.

we took a young soldier to the pub the day before she was deployed to afghanistan. we were really disappointed by the greasy food and very poor service. our waiter was unconcerned about serving us--even more so when he found out our guest (my former student) was a soldier. fish and chips hadn't been drained of grease and my corned beef was chewy. we just moved to the area and won't be back. ouririshgrandparents would be very disappointed.

i've stumbled in an out of jack quinns for years. i think i've always been too drunk to care about the food. i also do the tuesday jq runs for the company and beer. but it wasn't until this summer that i learned jack quinns has a bad ass manlyirishbreakfast with meat, potatoes, eggs and blood sausages. i went here for a buddy's bachelor party "men's breakfast." we had a b-l-a-s-t... great breakfast, great service, great times.

i love this place! if you're looking for something with a genuineirishpub atmospher andirishdishes (love the shepherd's pie!), then you'll love it too. not really a romantic or family spot, this one is great for a night out with a group of friends for beers and pool.
