🙂 it has been a couple of months since my visit tojackblack in diep river but i'm still smiling just thinking about it.there seemed to be a mini birthday party celebration outside so we inquired if it would be okay if we moved inside rather and a very polite gentleman moved us inside to a beautiful "picnic like" bench,made of nicely polished wood.

the setting is stunning,so simple and clean. everything is placed neatly and practically and i was fascinated by the huge barrels at the back of the room,which i imagined is where the beer is stored. the sitting is well co-ordinated and there is enough room to move around. i specially appreciated their stage setting,it is at an area where everyone can see and the sound is connected well enough to resonate through-out the whole place when an act is on stage.

we had the chicken wrap with a side of chips and it was delectable. they have a selection of beers you can pick from and they let you try a few different ones,i didn't have any but i made a mental note to try them all on my next visit because i'm definitely going back,the environment is enticing and the staff is very friendly and energetic it rubs-off on you and it makes you equally pleasant. amanda qaqa

we visitedjackblack for my husband’s birthday and had the best time! the food was amazing, such a cool vibe, the only downside was that it closed quite early for a saturday? pity because we could have stayed all night! a must-visit brewery.

we happened uponjackblack by chance and purely from doing a zomato search! what a great find. this was just perfect for a laid-back sunny saturday afternoon.
the atmosphere was vibey with a great live band and the service was super friendly. the food going past us looked mouthwatering so i really can’t wait to return to try it.
it might be pretty far from where i live but i will most certainly be returning for what is sure to be a great time!

i had been so excited to finally get tojackblack but wow i was so disappointed! probably the worst burger i've ever eaten...and completely overpriced for what it is...small and mine was accompanied by a greasy uncooked chips. service is okay but we walked in and stood around for a bit before anyone even noticed us. i had the atlantic weiss beer which was great though. nice to know you're dining at the brewery but it definitely needs some vibe...otherwise it just feels like you're dining in one big empty hall.

i live in the southern suburbs, and anyone that knows me would know that one of my pet peeves is the fact that there aren’t enough quality eateries in the “burbs”

what that does mean, is that if you want to enjoy a nice meal and a craft beer, you are going to have to pack up your friends and family and make the trek into town or its surrounds. now enterjackblack brewery, situated in diep river. i was invited to their quiz night, and what fun it was! entry costs r50pp which includes a complimentary 330mljackblack frosty beverage of your choice.

while waiting for the quiz competition to begin, we ordered the tasting tray to wrap our heads around what was on offer.

our group couldn’t decide which was best as we all had different courses. we had the butcher block beef burgers, homemade burger patties with bbq sauce, bacon, rocket gherkins and feta always a winning combination. the chicken burger had caramelised onion and brie and then there was the teriyaki duck wrap which was superb. to say the portions were generous would be an understatement, the quality and presentation of all the meals was of a high standard and hard to fault.

the quiz was fun and entertaining, and i suppose any time you are in a position to win free beer is always favourable.

without a doubt my absolute favourite local spot, good beer, good food and 5 min from home….what more could one ask for !!

jack black beer has become legendary in only a few years and it was a natural progression to develop part of their warehouse into a pub. the area is simple and spacious but comes alive when the crowds arrive! i had a larger while i waited for myjackblack burger which came with a mound of chips. the bun was fresh and tasty and the burger and chips were delicious. i noticed they use tribe coffee but never had a chance to tase it. i will need to go back in a group, maybe end of year function.

although we were convinced we were driving into a purely industrial area, we were pleasantly surprised to find thejackblack tasting room/restaurant. it has a really great feel to it, very cool decor and ambience and a nice outdoor seating area. we didn't eat but the food that we saw looked really good! the beer was great and the service was perfectly good. there is also a shop for you to buy merchandise and takeaway beer.

we've been tojackblack on a number of occasions and it's a cool spot. it's very spacious and airy compared to a lot of other craft breweries, although i sometimes find it lacks a bit of a vibe. that said, the beer and ciders are good and you can enjoy a 2-4-1 tasting tray using the entertainer. the menu is small and i find that the food can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. service can also be quite slow. they run quiz nights, among other events, which can be fun.

first time atjackblack.venue great and the beer tasting was very good.enjoyed the beer and the live music .great way to spend a saterday afternoon.will be back to try the food as it looked good staff on the ball.

i go here quite often, but whenjackblack removed their falafel option ( which sucks cause it rocked), i decided to try their only other veggie option: a burger. i've had some terrible veggie burgers at other places, but the beer here is so damn good (and reasonably priced if you see some craft prices in ct) that i was willing to try out their burger.

the burger was great. really tasty, and it came with a coleslaw which was fresh and not soaked in mayo.

the space they have built is beautiful. it's a great place to go for drinks with friends, and fridays they have live music.

i have to say again how good the beer is. the butcher's block is a favourite, but every other beer is good in its own right.

we do love our beer and were better to sample local brews than atjackblack?

located in an industrial area of diep river in an enormous warehouse, with a big section for the brewery, another for tasting and eating at long rustic tables, a small shop for beer and branded items and an awesome outdoorsey covered area to chill and listen to live music.

we tasted all 8 beers available. they are quite distinctly different. my favourites are the weiss and the coffee stout (that is not for sale yet as they are perfecting the recipe and level of carbonation). i loved it! hubby favourite is the larger and the pale ale.

really nice to relax and sip away at their crisp & perfectly chilled beers and allow your taste buds to be tantilised while chatting lazily with friends.

pulled in for friday lunch and found a newjackblack favourite thanks to the 4 beer taster option! the pils is a clean, light and refreshing brew and i'm going back for more for sure! will also happily go back for tasty chilli poppers, burgers and charcuterie and cheese boards. food, beer, laid-back vibes = perfect chill spot.

stopped here for a bit of a tasting and feel in love with beer. now being an australian, we likes our froffies and especially a larger style beer andjackblack pulls it off. enjoyed the pulled pork burger and will always grab ajackblack when i have the chance.

a great venue to kick back after a long busy week at work. a brewery well-known for their craft beers where they experiment with different styles and flavours.

the atmosphere is relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating with food trucks serving delicious food. nothing like live entertainment to keep the vibe alive.

jack rabbit food truck offers various menu items and where gourmet street food is paired with craft beer to wash down the rich flavours of the food. i opted for the delicious and tender pulled pork - slow cooked pork shoulder, micro slaw, sriracha sauce, louisiana cajun and smoked barbeque sauce. for something different thejackrabbit buns are branded. a great burger with great beer - definitely worth it!

there is no doubt that craft beer is loved by capetonians and there is nothing like sipping on a refreshing cold beer, soak up the sun and watch the world go by.
