let me begin by saying that your scribbler, gullible to his eccentric traits, gets excited for new fancy looking places with waiting time. it somehow gives an impression of popularity which can build up expectations. unfortunately, by the end of my meal, i would come to the conclusion that the long waiting times is due to the inept serving staff. what a pity!
the menu is impressive- i mean the images of the dishes in the menu are classy and plush looking with exotic vegetables and graceful presentation that could justify the price tag. alas, these are just ostentatious acts to deceive. the end result was not bad, just, why raise such lofty expectations?
the food was overall good. chicken was uncharacteristically smooth and succulent and the sauces had a nice zing to it. the fried ice cream had a nice thought behind it, but lacked in texture and chocolate (its definitely a crime to hold back on the chocolate!). its a shame how the waiters were doubtful of what was available and unaware of the contents of a dish. the paan shots at the end of the meal was refreshingly minty and, as always, a pleasant gesture.
with an ostensibly 'cool' name, d' curry house fails to impress, yet may work if you are planning for a long meal with really patient company.
