honey pig

so much fun. i've never been to korea (north or south) but this is what i would imagine a modern korean restuarant to be over there. great food, very energetic, and fun. two thumbs up!

bbq on speed. i like honeypig. good food, quick, and industrial. the speed of the servers and the bussers is quite amazing. i especially love the korean pop music pumping in the background.

this was a lot of food for four people but we enjoyed it! the service was quite good that night (i guess it can be hit or miss with the attentiveness) and the food was flavorful and well cooked. the prices were reasonable and i’m sure the husband and i’ll be back again in the future!

pros and cons.. we have been there twice. once as a group of 4 and once as a group of 2.
pros - 1) the food is very good. 2) the service is fast (not to imply it is good).
cons - 1) with the group of 4 we ordered 2 bbq dishes, a soup, and a pancake and were told by the waitress "no. it is dinner. 3 bbq dishes." with the group of 2 we ordered 1 bbq dish and 2 bowls of rice and were told by the manager taking our order "no. 2 bbq dishes." when i said "no. 1 bbq dish" we were told "ok for lunch. not for dinner. if you come for dinner you must order 2." this con makes diners feel really comfortable? no. they want money - plain and simple. 2) anything you ask for that takes time, like more napkins, gets a smirk as in "no time."
in summary, the food is good and comes quickly but the orders to the workers are sell the "correct" amount or the customer isn't worth our time.

this is pretty much perfect korean bbq. the bugolgi is just sweet enough and the accompanying vinegar/garlic sauce cuts through it perfectly and brings it all together. the steamed dumplings are also standouts. this place is amazing.

if i tell you that i knew nothing about the cuisine but the food was exotic and out of the world, would you believe it. i am coming back for more for sure. the local liquor soju was an experience.

always a good experience here. the prices are a bit high but the food quality is really great. i like the pork belly and marinated pork. their mandu (dumplings) are some of the best in the area. i wish they would refill banchan and tea without asking.

great food but horrible service. and i mean the worst service i've ever gotten on an empty restaurant. but then again, who wants to work at 2 am?

my experience here has been great so far! honeypig is open 24hours. good for late night food trip. i always order the spicy pork belly. its cooked right in front of u, server lets you know when its ready to dig in. i also order seafood pancakes, this is the best pancakes so far. servers are nice and pleasant. it gets busy during dinner time and weekends. i go around 12mn and service is stil wonderful.

for dinner, a friend and i wanted to try something different than our usual favorites and we were planning on heading outside of the city. i had heard good things about honey pig in howard county  and neither of us were familiar with korean bbq so we figured we would check it out. i also remembered seeing a livingsocial deal for honey pig which we bought that saved us $14 . when we walked in around 8pm on a saturday evening,  honey pig  was packed, there was a 20 minute wait which wasn’t bad at all. even when we left  honey pig  probably around 10:30 there was still a wait to be seated. honey pig when we were seated, our table had a bunch of sides to use with our  korean bbq . there was a sauce, jalapeños, a bean paste, kimchi, lettuce and more. this was my first time having  korean bbq  so i was a little confused about how to incorporate all of the sides into my dish. sides my friend and i decided to share two dishes, we started with the bulgogi.  one of the features of korean bbq is they cook the meat in front of you, similar to hibacchi but without all of the bells and whistles. bulgogi is thinly sliced, grilled marinated beef. bulgogi cooking when the bulgogi came off the grill it was steaming. my friend and i were each served a large portion of meat. i ended up mixing this with my rice and one of the sauces. i thought the meat was incredibly tender but lacking in some flavor, that possibly could have had something to do with my unfamiliarity with  korean bbq . bulgogi my friend and i also shared the chicken with fried rice. again we watched as this dish was cooked in front of us.

the food,. every time that i have been to the honey pig in ellicott city the food is delicious,always hot and i've never had a complaint.the staff has always been friendly and courteous.this restaurant is one of my favorites i would eat here above any other.

i have been posting about asian barbecue and i just can't stop myself from thinking of this place.  honey pig is one of my all time favorites... heaven on earth (to me anyway)

the korean equivalent of “honey pig” is an endearment for someone who enjoys eating! definitely the right name for this korean bbq!

not sure how the korean food is in baltimore, but honey pig is simply average in my opinion.

i was stationed in south korea.... ...for over a year. there have been two restaurants in all of the united states that i've been to (and i've searched high and low) that have even come close to the deliciousness i experienced in the far east. arirang garden in whidbey island, wa, and honey pig.

the service, food, and everything is what you'll find in country.

so, if you don't like it...don't plan a trip to the korean peninsula. you'll only embarrass yourself and your fellow americans further.
