hidden house has potentially alot going for them. tucked away in the side streets of bebek, this cute, hipster cafe is a perfect spot for a tea or coffee while you do your work. the food though, far from perfect. starting with a staggering 98tl serpme kahvalti (ok i get it, its bebek,) hidden house combined this with overly loud and awful christmas music on a hungover wednesday morning. i ordered the 3 egg potatoe omlette which despite my best efforts could not be saved. overcooked and dry potatoes, i felt like the undereducated american asking for ketchup. but honestly, not even this could save it. for a price point of 30tl, let's learn to cook some eggs. on the bright side, their tea was delicious, as was their jams and the finely baked bread added a nice touch. honestly, i get why some people pay more to be "seen" in bebek. but considering this cafe is hidden from the watchful eyes of bebek's elite, i really don't get it. but onto the next breakfast place in istanbul.
