harrie's pancakes

what an experience!
we met friends here forpancakesand it was great! naturally the rainy weather made the experience even greater! this is definitely a place that we'll be visiting again!
we had savoury pancakes:
thai chicken, mince and bobotie and all of them were delicious!
aubrey, our waiter, was very attentive and friendly!

if you want to be disappointed by a plate of overpriced food, go to harries.  we went to the branch in cullinan.  never, ever will any harries branch see us again.

hein ordered the lamb tomato stew pancake with basil pesto.  well.  the pancake had lamb in and was served with basil pesto.  and yes, the lamb filling was nice.  but tomato stew?  nu-uh, chef.  you got it wrong.  for a price of r80, at least serve this pancake with a salad, some chips, crisp, veggies - anything!

i ordered the sticky pork pancake.  tsk. tsk.  the sticky side was from a small bowl of sticky liquid.  the pork cubes in the pancake was dry and chewy.  once again for r80 ... really???  no side salad, no veggies?

so after a very disappointing main course, i ordered the chocolate chip peanut butter banana pancake - r45.  i opened up the pancake to take a picture ... poked around with my knife and fork.  i found a knife point worth of peanut butter, a few chocolate chips and 1 banana sliced up.  i sent it back.

honestly, people. pancakescost you about 50c or maybe r1.  the very least you can do is fill the pancake decently and at least serve it with a side salad, veggies or something.

i do not appreciate being ripped off and this is exactly what you'll get at harries.

today i had the biltong and mozzarella and the smoked haddock savory pancakes. the smoked haddock was delicious and juicy and thepancakeswere thin and went well with the cheese sauce. i was slightly disappointed with the biltong pancake as the cheese was not melted and i found the pancake quite dry. otherwise it was a pleasant experience and i will have to go back for some sweet options.

from savory cheese and mince fillings, to the most mouth watering chocolate moose fillings, harriespancakeshas it all!
and not only theirpancakesare amazing, their breakfast meals are devine too!
their home made jam is a must to try!
the decor is so adorable and makes you feel so relaxed and comfortable.

our waiter was super friendly! came with a group of varsity friends after lectures for a catch up. thepancakeswere super filling and prices are student budget friendly. best of all, although not on the menu, you can request for the chef to make thepancakesvegan with no extra charge!! definitely would come back

we had a great experience at harrie’s. it’s located at a good place, it’s calm and beautiful.
but most importantly, is their originality on how they make use ofpancakesfor good dishes.
i enjoyed my carrot cake and the service was great.

a yummy treat with a friend at harries pankcakes was the perfect way to end what was a stressful week. we opted forpancakeswith cinnamon sugar, banana filling and ice cream. thepancakeswere all kinds of perfect; however, the highlight was the ice cream! it was really goood!
and lovely food presentation. staff is attentive and friendly. the prices are super decent. it’s well worth a visit in my books.

great pancakes, very fluffy and tasty! i had one with bobotie. my wife had a quiche of the day, with spinach. this quiche could have be a bit more tastier. apparentlypancakesare their speciality!
it took quite long before we were served, when we were there a bus of tourists also visited the restaurant.... shop next door (dela goa) is also nice to visit!

you simply won't go wrong with this one.pancakesof the highest quality. this establishment has been in the game for decades now and never disappoints. worth the trip from jhb

friendly service, a relax vibe, bestpancakesin pretoria in a wide variety of sweet and savoury available. the only area lacking is outside of pancakes. only have white and broad bread. and the health breakfast comes with the basic apple and banana. no interesting options there

i have never been a fan of harrie'spancakesbecause of their unbelievably thick pancakes. i had a spinach and feta pancake this time and it was extremely thick and super dry. i had to ask for some tomato sauce just to get it down my trachea.

when it's rainy and you're in the mood for something to munch this is it! harrie's is fun central meeting place for catching up with friends or grabbing something before you hit the shops...pancakeswith fillings that will make your mouth water. from bobotie to your more traditional cinnamon-sugar favorite.. coffe is good.. tends to get very busy so head out early on the weekends...

situated just off stanza bopape street (the old church street), harrie’spancakesis exactly what it says. it’s all about pancakes. this seems like just a ‘dessert’ experience, but do not be fooled, they do offer lovely breakfasts, confectionery, salads, light lunches and off course pancakes.

anything from the classic cinnamon & sugar (my favourite) to a caramel & banana treat. their savoury offerings are also decadently prepared from creamy chicken & mushroom, vegetarian zuccini, tomato & mozzarella and my favourite, the bobotie (south african spicy mince filling) pancake.

the food is never below par which i appreciate a lot! service on the other hand is a but slow at times albeit always accompanied with a smile. seating are available inside or outside on their stoep. i would recommend you visit harrie’s and while you are there, go look at the art installation on the stoep seating area.

great variety ofpancakesand friendly staff. keep ordering the same pancake fillings and they never dissappoint! milk tart filled pancake and a thai styled chicken with chillie marmalade 🌟🌟

had a good time at harrie's pancakes. nice setting and service that is fast and friendly. boyfriend ordered the peppermint crisp pancake and i got the milk tart filled pancake with ice cream.pancakeswere delicious but super rich so i would suggest forgoing the ice cream!
