happy grilled cheese

one of jacksonville favorite food trucks recently opened a brick and mortar store downtown and a happy place it is. happygrilledcheese is a welcome addition to the same ol same ol big box food shops. the moment i walked in my mood was lifted, with the thought of creamy warm goodness to come. every item on the menu is fresh daily, you can find everything from your standard fare, to the extraordinarily unique on the menu at the happygrilledcheese. a specials board adorns the wall for those looking for something out of the ordinary.  service is brisk, making it the perfect spot for office workers or those with time constraints to order be served and take it to go or eat in.

disappointed. i had the steak melt and my kids had the happy and the happy with bacon. the steak on mine was over cooked and reminded me of steakums. i was expecting possibly juicier roast beef and i could hardly taste the jalapenos orgrilledonions. it was also very salty. my kids sandwiches were pretty average. nothing that i couldn't have made at home for half the price. also, the fries were not crispy and they were salty. maybe it was just an off day for them. i will try one more time the next time they are in my area.

definitely happygrilledcheeses. i have been stalking this truck for months now & i finally got to check it out today. all i can say is it was worth the wait. the mac & cheese melt was phenomenal. the other people in my group all raved about what they had as well (the mac daddy, the caprese, & the uncle vinny's). i will definitely be back when they are in the area.

flavorless, greasy. perhaps the grade schoolgrilledcheese is what they are after - if so, they've nailed it.

i would describe my lunch as grease between two slices of texas toast.

i had the turkey/advacado melt but could taste neither of these adult additions to the classicgrilledcheese

there was moderate dosage of processed cheese but found the entire sandwich lacking flavor and very greasy.

i am not sure what they use on the bread but if it is butter, i would search for a more flavorful brand.

also, maybe there were other bread options but that was not apparent.

ok but not great. i had to try the happygrilledcheese because of the long lines and obvious popularity. i tried "king of the mac" which another reviewer mentioned was ok but not great and i agree, it is missing something like more flavor. for the obvious heart attack waiting to happen (3 cheeses, mac n cheese, pulled pork, and fried onions ongrilledtexas toast) it should at least taste like it is worth it.

we ate at the happygrilledcheese food truck recently to check out their menu and see if they could actually improve on our favorite comfort food. the menu was full of grilled cheese variations, available on white bread, texas toast, and pita. the cheese varied as well, ranging from american, mozzarella, swiss, cheddar, and pimento. we ordered the caprese melt, which had pesto, tomatoes, red onion, and mozzarella. and we just couldn't pass up the crunch melt, which had homemade mac and cheese, homemade chips, american cheese

makes me happy. my co-worker/friend wanted to visit the the happygrilledcheese food truck for lunch when they were in our work vicinity back in early june, and i decided to venture along.

i ordered the capresegrilledcheese sandwich (about $6) along with a dipper-size cup of soup (about 4 oz in a short styrofoam cup, perfect for dipping your sandwich) for $1. it was delicious! a simple sandwich made on two slices of white sandwich-size bread, mozzarella cheese, slice of tomato, and a good spread of pesto. it wasn't greasy or as buttery as a traditionalgrilledcheese--personally, i like a little more butter on mine. my friend ordered their homemade chips with his sandwich. i sampled one; it was super thin, crispy, and well-seasoned.

happy happy happy. i just returned from the happygrilledcheese truck and i am really happy happy happy. i had the crunchygrilledcheese and it was delish. a boat load of cheese, bacon and onions with some cheese puffs thrown in. then i remembered that their fryer was down. oh well it was really good anyway. then i get a text from the wife and she sees that i'm at the happygrilledcheese truck and she not happy happy happy. so being the good husband i shoot a pic of the menu and say what do you want? now thegrilledcheese truck is happy happy happy. so she wanted the daddy of the mac and you will have to wait for the review on that but i can probably think that she will love it too.

yum yum yum!. had happygrilledcheese for the first time last night at one spark. everything was buttery, cheesy, and delicious. mac and cheese in agrilledcheese sandwich is a wonderful thing. will be on the lookout for this truck around town! definitely a must try.

ehhhh... i follow jaxtruckies on facebook and when i saw this truck was coming out i immediately got excited! then, i had it for the first time at the jacksonville home and patio show.

not impressed. i was expecting the cadillac ofgrilledcheese and it had no bells or whistles. tried the regulargrilledcheese, thegrilledcheese with tomato and bacon, and the tomato soup. soup was great everything else was not.

regular bread, regular cheese but not enough to make the cheese pull when i broke the bread apart. the bacon wasn't crispy either. i have made better with regular white bread and velveeta slices. not worth the money but if you're hungry, just get the soup.

i have always been fascinated with food trucks and when i drove by the happygrilledcheese i had to stop and try it. one word describes the two meals i had amazing! i recommend everyone tries this food truck!

happy for thegrilledcheese!. i was so delighted when i passed by thegrilledcheese last week. they were at the jax federal in riverside. most of the customers were employees of the bank but i illegally parked and ran over as fast as i could! being from orlando, i'm excited about the recent food truck development in jax. first thing i noticed about the truck was the awesome paint job, very unique! i approached the counter and ordered the daddy of the mac. it was agrilledcheese sandwich with pulled pork and mac n' cheese noodles! i was so impressed with this combination i inhaled the whole thing. this was the lunch i needed. my god was i full and satisfied! hope to see this truck around more!

i have been eagerly anticipating the rollout of the happygrilledcheese truck since seeing whispers about it and a menu leak on twitter. not just regulargrilledcheese sandwiches (delicious on their own merit) but a creative variety of them?? i was so there. and so i was, on opening day: the happygrilledcheese truck the truck features a rotating variety of it’sgrilledcheeses, and on this day the offerings ranged from plain to with bacon to with lots of bacon. i chose the latter, obviously, porky the melt (american cheese, cheddar, bacon, ham, pulled pork, caramelized onion, and tomato): porky the melt with all this meat, porky the melt was really more of agrilledsandwich than agrilledcheese. it was a good sandwich, just not what i was looking for from agrilledcheese vendor. my second visit yielded a brisket and blue melt (mozzarella, blue cheese crumbles, smoked brisket, arugula and red onion), along with some chips and beer cheese soup/dip: brisket & blue melt this sandwic
