mrs. my son found hammerheads online some how, since than we meet there once a month or every other month with all the kids, i live in spencer county , my kids are in louisville, hammerheads is a great place, the best in town..... i am from germany, i have eaten in many places... awesome place... :-)

amazing food and service with a smile. some of the best food in town, hands down. it's one of the hardest places in town to get a seat, but it's worth the wait! i never even attempt it on the weekends, but it's easier to grab a seat at the bar (my preference) on a monday or tuesday. they only have a beer lincence, but the beer selection they do have is fantastic, not being an avid drinker myself, i can always find one, the same friendly bartender always leads me in the right direction. i personally find the staff to be very friendly, quick with a smile. i recommend this restaurant to all my friends! i crave the duck sliders and truffle fries daily!

please go here!!!. we know good food, my dad owns a bbq joint. and this is great food. it is unlike any other restaurant we've been to. we started out with the duck sliders and a craft beer, followed up with the lamb ribs, elk burger and french fries fried in duck fat with truffle sauce. not one bad thing on the menu!! we have world traveling friends, and we've encouraged everyone to check them out, and every single person we've sent there has been amazed and ecstatic about their food. great atmosphere, very unassuming actually. if you are looking for the best, uncommon place to try out here in louisville, i highly recommend hammerheads!! keep up the great work guys!! we will be back....again and again and again. 5 stars!!

worst service ever but great food! just have to be okay with waiting forever, being treated poorly, and then enjoying some great food.

you definitely will not think this could be the best restaurant in louisville by driving by, but do not be mislead by this basement bar. this is the best food i have ever eaten at unbelievably reasonable prices. we had the ribs, sliders, elk burger, and truffle fries and they were all phenomenal! you must eat here!

waited 20 mins for seats at the bar. then another 10 for a drink order before we got up and left. worst service ever,server didnt even notice us till we said we were leaving.

ohhh meh god, so gooooodd!!!. ok, first off let me say that this place is tiny..and no you can't drink outside, and no you probably shouldn't show up with 700 people and try to be seated within 15 minutes. get there early if you have a lot of people with you, and don't stay and try to talk after eating, because someone is probably waiting on your table you a**hole. also it's loud, so don't go there for date night, unless you don't like talking, or you dont' mind talking loudly. i've been three times, in the past two months, my food is always delicious. and by delicious i mean freeeaking fantastically orgasmic! i don't know what they put in that food but it's delicious. the grit cake, truffle fries, sweet potato waffle, i mean oh my god! it's so good. so me, i would gladly wait an hour to eat this food and pay way more for it than what they charge. they have a really really awesome beer selection, they should definitely look into getting some original cocktails, but really who cares. the food is so good, that nothing else should matter. if you show up with more than 4 people expect to wait a while, and if it's just 2 of you hopefully you can grab a seat at the bar or in the front. but every time i come there, 10-15 minutes within ordering my food it's presented in front of me, hot and ready!
they have the best barbecue sauce in the world. (i don't even like bbq sauce!!!!) i'm going to go ahead and say that this is a fact. it most likely has meth in it as it is highly addicting and i feel like i'm god when i eat it. so, if you're in town on vacation and you're feeling adventurous, go here. and if you live here and you haven't been here, well then you suck, and probably shouldn't go, because you'll hate it. unless you're awesome, then by all means goooo!

i love hammerheads. love it. the ribs are delicious, the duck tacos are awesome, truffle oil fries are dreamy too. i really love this restaurant, and the ambiance of the entire scene is reminiscent of a tiny little cafe in europe (except probably more focused on meats than a european cafe would be....)

go. but maybe go off hours- sometimes its a little hard to get in because i'm not the only one who raves about the place.

awesome converted home. southern tier creme brule is the best imperial milk stout i've ever had. ordered the specialty lamb burger with seasoned goat cheese on local pretzel bread, terrific dinner. service is also attentive and friendly.

this place is amazing. anyone who doesn't like this place just needs to stick with their premade, prepackaged olive garden. the food is absolutley amazing and the duck fat is worth the extra money! my husband had the catfish sandwich and he loved it. tarter sauce made in house and amazing. service is what you would expect for a hole in the wall. focus on the food and it is all worth it. ps- no kids, and seriously does it matter if they push your tables together??

pulled pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese and fries were delicious!! definitely recommend!!

rude and no customer service. when i arrived to this basement resturant we had to wait for a table for 45 minutes. we told the hostess we were a party of 7 and she never once said that was a problem. when she finally offered us a table for 4 she said there was a table next to it that would ready in a few minutes. well, come to find out they not only couldn't move the tables but stated that wouldn't move them together and also stated "whats the problem, your close". how rude it that, since when is it so difficult to move tables together so a party of 7 can sit and enjoy a meal. the last word that was said by a gentlemen that worked there is " if you don't want the table then someone else will". didn't even care if we ate there of not. those people were rude and i will not go back.

rude and no customer service. i live out of town and my nephew wanted to take us to this basement resturant. we had to wait out side for about 15 minutes because the was no room inside, we asked for a table for 7. waited for 45 minutes to be seated to find out that our party only could not be seated together, but we were told would not be able to sit together. we were told that they would not move the tables that we would have to sit apart, and if we didn't like it then there plenty of people they would like sit down. they have lost our buisness and i hope that anyone else out there won't waste your time.

extremely rude - will not go back again. my son wanted to take myself, my sister and niece visting from out of town along with his girlfriend, his best friend, and his dad here for dinner. he had been there previously. however, when we arrived with a party of seven and waited 45 minutes they called us and went to seat us (at two separate tables) we asked that the tables be put together. a man came out and told us they could not put the tables together. he said you can sit at separate tables, i don't understand what the problem is and why you can't just do that. first of all we stood outside in the rain for about 20 minutes, finally were able to get inside. they have an abc license but only serve beer. the sign in the front window should have been an indication of the management style of the restaurant. we reserve the right to refuse serve to anyone. once taking a peek at the menu while we waited 45 minutes for a table for 7 the menu clearly stated at the bottom that "your food will be served when it is hot and ready" i watched as the food was served. everyone at the table was not served at the same time. some received their entrees without their side dishes. the servers were carrying food while trying to walk through people waiting to be seated. seemed very unsanitary. you couldn't tell who worked there and who was dining there. the food was served on wooden planks, which also seemed unsanitary. after looking at the menu my sister and i were glad that they weren't able to seat us because there wasn't a thing on the menu that we wanted to order. the prices seemed high and everything was served a la carte. the smokers out front were on a trailer and my sister and i immediately started looking for the inspection rating. this place is literally a hole in the wall and looks very dirty outside and it appears there is an apartment above it filled with junk. dirty, nasty, wouldn't spend a dime in this place. i was happy to leave and go to a clean restaurant with pleasant, happy, helpful hostesses and servers.
