endless meats. my first time at this type of brazilian restaurant, but i am sure that it will not be my last. as previous posts indicate, it will really cater to meat lovers, and those with large appetites. as many have stated, it is rather pricey, but really not bad if you eat a lot, and especially for the quality of food. desserts and drinks are not included, but it is byob. many different beef, some sausage, chicken and a few lamb. the lamb was excellent, and the parmesian beef (tenderloin, i think) was suprising tasty and tender. their salad bar is underrated, i think, as most come for the meat. it has nice olives (including red olives), seafood salads, some tuna and salmon sashimi, cured meats (i think decent prosciutto, salami, and sopressata) among others. the black beans were also good - very smoky flavor. i have now been here twice, and my second visit was better than the first. the meats were all cooked medium rare (with some a little more on the rare side), while at my first visit a few were well done. the parmesan steak was wonderful both times - the parmesan flavor really comes through, much more than one would think. the flank steak was very tender, and the filet had a great crust on it. my piece was half crust, and it was awesome. the leg of lamb had quite a gamey flavor/grass fed flavor - which i love. the lamb chop was also great.

meat lovers delight!. i've never been to a place like this before. a brazillian bbq. there is a buffet style appetizer bar and salad bar. my advice: don't fill up on this, you'll need the space later.

you have this little wood spool that looks like it was filled with thread at one time. one side is red and the other green. when you turn the green side up, people start to come to your table with a variety of meats on spits. about 20 of them! - beef ribs - short ribs - chicken - flank steak - lamb -tenderloin w/garlic - pork loin - pork ribs - prime rib - rib eye steak - sausage - skirt steak - top sirloin - turkey - filet with bacon - lamb chops.

each one of them was excellent. they don't have alcohol but you can byob. expect a corking fee. i would also recommend the lemon sorbet for dessert. light but very flavorful. the light part is important after all that meat.

remember - pace yourself and take small samples. there's plenty of food and plenty of time.

vegetarians beware!. how can you not like a place that will continuously serve you meat until you either (a) pass out or (b) flip a wooden spool to the same color that matches your eyes?
this is a great place to go with a group of people especially if some of them have never experienced a brazilian barbeque.
this is by far not the best churrascaria place i've been to, but it's the only one in pittsburgh and therefore by process of elimination, the best one here.
the last time i went they were byob which in my opinion only makes it better.

tip ... don't waste precious stomach space on the buffet. you'll regret it once they start arriving at your table with meat dish after meat dish.

just awesome. this is my third trip to green forest, and i'm impressed at how much they've improved in service and quality. i even think the food, especially the meat was a bit better. though some items were not marked on the hot food bar, most of the hot food items were. i don't expect every salad bar item to be marked but the important items were (ie salad dressing). i've been to one other churrascaria and i think green forest holds its own to it. they each had different strong points, but i think green forest is the new winner in my book.

meat, meat, and more meat. me and my gf were a little worried about trying this place mainly becasue we showed up about an hour before close on a sunday night. however, our fears were quickly gone. the service here is very good as is the quality of the cold and hot bars. even at our late dining hour everything was well stocked with fresh selections nothing looked old or dried out. now onto the meat. oh my god bring an appetite for this because you're gonna want to make it worth it, but thats not hard to do. the concept is simple you have a spool on your table witha red side and a green side red side up means no meat, green side up means bring on the meat! which they do in ample supply on giant skewers which is carved tableside, juices dripping and sizzling as it hits the hot skewer. i ama self proclaimed meataholic (i make bacon ice cream for gods sake) thsi palce is amazing nothing else like it in this area and definately worth the price ($36 per person) bring a botlle of wine and get your meat on!

the golden corral of churrascarias. if you've ever been to a churrascaria in a larger major city, this place will blow your mind. to say that it doesn't meet expectations is a real understatement. the cold buffet items and most of the hot are unmarked so you don't know what you are getting. the meats are good but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. one of my tablemates had sugar cube tongs as his tongs for the meat, lol. the restrooms are smelly too.

one of the best places i have every eaten at. the service was good. the food was outstanding!!! the salad bar is worth the price by it's self but the meats make it's over the top. come eat, enjoy and being a large pair of pants.

a unique experience. the green forest is a truly unique and tasty experience. the meats are justifiably the star but the hot buffet and salad bar exceed expectations. we've been there twice and have been wowed both times. the beef filet has been the best cut of meat i've ever had at a restaurant anywhere.

a meat orgy. cold meats on the salad bar and flame licked meats, like chicken wrapped in bacon and filet. i have only had lunch there but i'm sure dinner is just as good.

very good food and excellent service. you cannot go wrong here. i have been going here on a semi regular basis for a couple of years and i have yet to have a bad experience. the cold bar is wonderful, loaded down with these seafood delights. oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, ceviche and a fresh and tastey salad consisting of squid. scallops crab etc. there are also crispy fresh greens, salami and cheese tray, olives, roasted red peppers and more. i shouldn't forget the hot side dishes either. they are good as well, especially the black beans with pork. but the star attraction are the wide variety of meats, skewered and lovingly flame lapped to perfection. served tableside and accompanied with a fine bottle of wine that you are encouraged to bring along with you. i would like to make special mention of the core group of servers that provide attentive service without intruding. i overwhelmingly give my approval. i will be back soon!
