green dot stables is a detroit icon and rightfully so. cheap but delicious food and drink mixed with a trendy atmosphere and funky staff make for agreatexperience. every slider, although simple, is carefully thought out and the product is a mix of sweet and savory smarts. even the desserts are brilliant, especially the ice cream sandwich which screams local pride with the use of blue moon ice cream from the local guernsey dairy farm stuffed between a mexican tea biscuit.

recently visited green dot stables for the second time and i must say that i thoroughly enjoy the food and the service. i tried the corned beef slider which was amazing, a crispy chicken ceasar slider was good and a crispy pork shoulder slider that was also very delicious. the macaroni and cheese was ok not the best but decent in my opinion it lacked flavor. also tried the venison chili and cheese fries and the cajun fries which were both equally great. only complaint which brought it down to one star was that food arrived rather room temp/cold not hot at all. overall a definite place to visit in detroit.greatprices and excellent service.

not a good first impression. sat at the bar & ordered 2 sliders, truffle & herb fries, & mac & cheese. our bartender carlos was awesome but that's pretty much where the good experience ends. the fries are actually truffle salt & parsley and although tasty had very little truffle flavor. the mac & cheese was pretty good but thought the portion was a tad small. overall i felt like the food was trying to be 'gourmet' & trendy but failed. the clam chowder was simply topped w a swirl of siracha which wasgreatwithout it. the kimchi & peanut butter was not well balanced & the meat was oddly flavored & dry. didn't care for the mystery meat (gator) either. not in a hurry to go back.

one of my husband's and my favorite restaurants. my husband and i often take the short trek to detroit from royal oak just to go to green dot stables. the sliders and wine/beer never disappoint us and i love the funky atmosphere and super friendly wait staff. yesterday the "mystery meat" was hungarian sausage with peppers, which was part beef heart. i know- that sounds weird, but it was really good. always try the mystery meat slider- it is usually awesome. besides thegreatsliders, i also love the chicken paprika soup and the kale salad, so much so that i have started ordering these two items as a carry-out for lunch the next day. did i mention the fries- especially the truffle/herb and le poutine ones- they are awesome and always nice and hot. this is a true detroit gem!

the whole team wants green dot to be a food place first and havegreatbeer and liquor prices as well. one of the biggest renovations they did was completely overhauling the kitchen, and they have been planning the menu for months. they are making everything from scratch that they can with a lot of focus on maintaining low price points. everything on the menu will be $2-3 with no additional tax. all domestic beers and well drinks will be $2; all craft beers and premium drinks $3. (and their craft beer selection will include labels like dragonmead’s final absolution. “where else can you get final absolution for $3?” jacques asks. the answer, of course, is nowhere.)

you gotta run to this new place. holy wow folks i'm talking one of a kind just opened in outgreatcity, a spot you can see from the lot both the old train station and the ambassador bridge. the inside is so really cozy and unique along with the fabolus service and foods created by a cool young chef from cordon blue's school in chicago. he's made teses most amazing sliders too die for along with 7 types of fries including my favorite poutine oh hell yea i say. the sliders are the very most unique little burgers i've ever eaten, now i just have to go back to try them all.

a daily mystery meat you must ask for today was rabbit, just in time for easter, which was done like pulled pork and severing it with a pistachio ins aged pesto. wow off the the damn chart great

the korean was me favorite a slider topped with korean kimchi and peanut butter, i could of ate 3 of these. the chef born and raised in allen park was out talking with all the guests making sure they were enjoying hisgreatfoods. please take a look see at my photo's and be sure to run on down to say hello
