i live in northwest o, ordered the teriyaki chicken for my 10 and 6 year old girls and myself. as they were eating my oldest daughter said "dad, thisfoodhas a bug in it!" i looked over at her plate and saw a 3/4'' cooked cockroach!!!! this is a warning to not eat at this place, i'm writing this literally 30 min. after the find and my stomach is still turning. i called the store and the manager said he needed the bug to return my money, after digging the bug out of the trash he called me back. apparently he was arguing with the "owner" who didn't believe us and said never mind to getting the bug back. please think twice before eating here. also, i will be contacting the omaha health department tomorrow!!

disappointed in quality. the staff was incredibly nice but thefoodwas disappointing. the egg drop soup tasted like water - absolutely no flavor. the amazing chicken was less than amazing and the chicken seemed very fatty and poor quality. i spent $33 for 1 adult and 2 kids meals.

not worth it. it was our very first time to come here, and seemed a decent place to spend the evening. the place is way understaff, waiters don't ask if you need anything at all or fill your cups, and the mediocrefoodisn't worth the prices. it takes forever to make a chinese, huh!
in a nut shell, they screwed our evening and mood! we're never going back there again!

come for the dim sum on the weekends- it can be crowded and busy but thefoodis hot and fresh. they have a shortened dim sum menu during the week (which is disappointing) but they have some dim sum items you cannot get anywhere else (like the deep fried crab claw!).

i have never dislike a place so much i refused to pay for part of the meal. until tonight. i never really complain. our family took my adult daughter there for her birthday because of the extensive menu. we ordered off the dim sum menu and the regular menu. i cant even comment on the dim sum because we never got our order. after 30 minute wait to place our order it took 20 minutes to get our soup hot and sour soup. it was only the egg parts no tofu or mushrooms. nothing. only mediocre. the hot mustard tasted like an monkey cage smells. ( not kidding) the sweet and sour tasted like bubble gum. 30 minutes after our soup bowls were picked up our dinner finally arrived. the men got kung pou chicken. the peanuts and veggies were completely raw. the chicken was flavorless and very fatty. they refused to eat it. i had the moo shu chicken. it's pancakes were cheap tortillas. the rest was below average but i could eat it. my daughter had the clay pot chicken. it was mostly sliced onions an celery. she said the chicken was ok. but for $14. you expect more than onions and celery. but not much of it. we tried to make excuses for thefoodquality thinking maybe poor kitchen help on sunday night. but then we couldn't explain away the instant rice. and poorly cooked at that. the waiter was very busy but kind. i felt bad to tell him we would pay for the meals the men refused to eat because he was a decent waiter for how busy he was. resturant was very understaffed. sadly disappointed. we only see outle daughter every few months. and this made our family night very unplesent.

very good for lunch!. i happened to order the happy family dish from the lunch menu. i did like the choices that came with my lunch since some of the other restaurants aren't as generous. thefoodwas really good! the only negative was that it did take a bit for my takeout to be ready but it was well worth it.

dim sum sunday. this is one of omaha's better asian restaurants, and the weekend dim sum experience is a big reason why. served saturdays and sundays from 11 am until 3 pm, there are about 40 options on the dim sum menu. plus you have the regular menu to choose from, too. dim sum prices average in the $3 range, so it is affordable for a group of diners to mix and match 3 or 4 menu items per person, and then share. on my most recent visit i really liked the cilantro shrimp rolls. the other items we sampled were good as well.
a limited dim sum menu is also available at other times of the week, but go on the weekend to get the full experience.

it will be your grand fortune. dining here is special for one reason. the dim sum. no, they don't push the little carts around like in dim sum palaces in larger cities, and that is a shame. but thefoodis every bit as good. the majority of diners are chinese, and that should tell you something about the quality, and the value. located right next door to famous dave's, you might say dave has a next door neighbor in general tso.
this restaurant is also open later into the night than many others in the neighborhood, something to remember if you are craving dinner at 9:30 after your movie lets out.
if you dine here it will be your grand fortune to do so.

march 31st review????. the only negative review -- "2nd time even worse!" -- was unbelievable!

my family has eaten there dozens of times over the years, and the only complaint my family or friends have had is that they ate too much. the freshness offoodis remarkable. the staff is helpful and friendly and will customize orders to suit your preferences. they prepare dishes for my wife with low salt.

they do have a large carry out business, and if they aren't too busy, they offer water to those waiting for their orders. they certainly don't look down on those getting carryout food. i think the "2nd time even worse!" reviewer had some other problems. i find it interesting that this large comment is repeated word for word (copy/paste) on several websites -- hmmmm

2nd time even worse!. my husband and i gave grand fortune a second chance after a less than mediocre first try. we have heard such great things about this place we decided to give it another whirl. when i walked in to pay for my take out order, i was treated as some sort of leper and rushed out the door without any sort of acknowledgement because i was take out. that really wouldn't have bothered me, except for how wrong they got our order. my husband's sweet and sour chicken was soggy and tasted microwaved. my tangerine beef did have a wonderful sauce, but the coating on the beef was so soggy that it really didn't matter what the dish had on it... the texture of soggy fried meat it not a pleasing mouth feel. the price of thefoodis way more than what any review says... and it is not worth 12 bucks a meal. the majority of their meals are well over 10 dollars...
on top of it all, they forgot to give us our order of crab rangoon. the one thing i was really looking forward to eat (because it was the one thing they did well the first time).
basically, you want to avoid this place if you like peas, carrots, and onions in your fried rice... if you want a sweet and sour sauce that doesn't taste like orange punch.... if you want to be appreciated for your business, even carryout.... or if you want to be assured that yourfoodis not microwaved and will have a crunch when you bite into it.
but... they do have fantastic fortune cookies.

best so far!. we've only been in omaha for about 6 months. so far, we've enjoyed thefoodhere at grand fortune the best. the service was a little "off" the night we first tried it. it was a sunday night and i felt like this one poor guy was running the entire front house and all tables. but ourfoodwas prepared promptly after ordering and was definitely the best tasting we've had here so far. we'll definitely be back!

yummy!. we had a groupon here....and it was delicious! the portions were very very large....it is a tad on the pricey side...but you pay for what you get! and in my opinion...goodfoodis always worth more! the large portions allowed us to basically get two meals out of each entree. the chicken fried rice and chicken lettuce wraps were amazing!!

a groupon deal brought me out west for a first visit to grand fortune and i'm glad it did.

i'm generally not the biggest fan of asian soups, but the wonton soup had a broth that wasn't overly salty (my normal complaint) and the pork dumplings were quite good. the general tso's chicken came with several meatball-sized chunks of chicken with a nicely balanced sweet/spicy sauce. my wife's combination lo mein (beef, chicken, and shrimp) got a nice review as well. portions were plentiful and we've got leftovers for lunch tomorrow. we were too late for the dim sum menu, but that offers a nice excuse for a return trip.

the atmosphere was pleasing--a little more elegant than your average chinese restaurant. our server, though she seemed to be the only one for the entire dining area, was very friendly and thefoodcame quickly.
