grab a yabby is the pinnacle of social experiences. my friends and i were craving something new and happened to walk by this hidden restaurant in the back corner of an alleyway. greeted by the friendly staff we thought we might as well give this place a try. after being seat we were told that this concept restaurant is not quite like every other restaurant and oh boy we were in for a treat. specialising in seafood we ordered a bunch of their fresh seafood offerings, which did take a while to come out and when it did, it came with gloves which is something that i’ve yet to see. the succulent and juicy shellfish was something out of the freshly caught seafood market and their specialty sauces are 100% worth trying. eating fresh seafood with gloves was a refreshing, fun and new experience, the whole time my friends and i were all talking, laughing and completely engaged in how fun it was to figure out how to eat each item of food without normal cutlery. that’s when it hit me that eating food can be fun and everything grab a yabby does perfectly encourages this. the slightly long wait for the food, the gloves instead of cutlery so phones can not be used, the little instructions given on how to eat the food, the extremely large sharing portions.. it is all to facilitate this wonderful, fresh and incredibly social experience. would definitely recommend!

we came here with a groupon for 2 which included a fishermans basket and two drinks for $45. the fishermans basket alone is normally $59 and contains clams, mussels, prawns, a morten bay bug, corn and potatoes in your choice of sauce and a serve of rice. we chose the grab-a-yabby special sauce which was a cajun style sauce. the seafood came out in a plastic bag and we were given bibs and plastic gloves. the sauce had a good kick to it and all the seafood was well cooked except for the bug which was a little over.

it made for a fun meal but it wasn't very filling. i could've definitely eaten one of those bags on my own. the service throughout the night was attentive and super friendly and the highlight of the night.

a lot of potential for this seafood restaurant. great dishes and perfect for a family dining or gathering. we were very impressed with the servings and the delicious food.

grab a yabby is a hip and happening seafood bar on beaufort street, just at the back of block of shops near the iga. bright and airy, the menu consists of mainly seafood, but also some steak and ribs options. our waitress, rory was a delight – she made us feel welcome and explained the menu in detail to us.

my favourite restaurant for seafood 🦞 amazing experience. crabs and yabbys are phenomenal! can’t say enough good stuff about them 👌🏼🥰🤩🎀 a must-try

my expectation was very high because i was looking at photos and review however it was a let down. beef ribs full rack ended up with with 2 small ribs coasting around 40 or more!!! i talked to the waitress that this is a rip off. yabbys were average.

modern look restaurant with friendly staffs and food is great with a wide choice to choose from. they also do vietnamese traditional dishes.

the staffs are so helpful and so kind to us, would recommend trying the lobster in the tangy red sauce! i would definitely go back here again

the service is amazing. we came to celebrate my dads birthday. my family and i were welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality of the waitress she was so sweet we forgot to get her name. would definitely recommend for family dinner, great venue, food was decent a little salty.
