we are locals and went on friday night.....very over priced...i had 1 lobster tail (that wasn't fresh) and cost $70!!!!rice wasn't fresh and over all v v disappointing .. tried but wont go again.

grab a yabby is a new addition to the mount lawley dining scene. love your seafood? put on your bib and plastic gloves and get ready for an epic seafood feast!. with our bibs and gloves on, we were ready to savour some seafood. we started off with kumara chips or sweet potato chips and some sliders to share. my favourite was he soft shell crab slider as it was crispy with one bite in the mouth complementing well with the soft and sweet brioche bun.

i had high expectations for this place after reading the rave reviews on the fresh seafood (which i love!). we decided on the fisherman's basket which came with clams, mussels, prawns, a bug, rice, corn and potato with the special yabby sauce. i loved the sauce, generous and super flavoursome, and seafood was really fresh. for $59 for the dish, it is certainly not a cheap lunch but that's the price you pay for fresh seafood. i really loved the sweet potato fries with the magic dust. i don't know what was in the dust but it was delicious!! it definitely made the fries a stand out dish. i also really enjoyed the mango berry mocktail with actual real fruit bits. it was refreshing with the addition of mint and lemon. overall i enjoyed it and would recommend it to any seafood lover.

there are not many seafood restaurants, but this recently opened one is a must try.
their dino ribs are the biggest beef ribs i have seen. sometimes its a hit and miss as it can be full of fat or full of meat. soft shell crabs sliders are amazing. absolutely full of flavour!! seafood has 4 different flavours to choose from, my preference would be the grab a yabby sauce! but don't take my word for it. come and experience it for yourself.

great fun place for dinner!
fresh and interesting new way of eating seafood!
had the yabbies and morton bay bugs and also the ribs which were great.
ribs were not the usual bbq style that fall of the bones, cooked differently with lots of flavour but chewy
would recommend for big group dinners

this place was fantastic! the service, the food and the ambience was 10/10! we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. we ordered the dino beef ribs ($55) which were actually humongous- 2 of us couldn't finish it. this was served with crispy fries and extra soft dipping bread. the bbq marinade was excellent and the beef was so tender.

the reviews were not kidding when they said the beef ribs were to die for! it was so good, i went back the next day to have them again! being someone with high tolerance (i thought) for spiciness, i just had to try the lava wings for myself. instant tears! it was craaaaaaaaazy spicy! i'll just stick to the seafood with grab a yabby special sauce and the to-die-for beef ribs.

beaufort street is buzzing with new food spots. grab a yabby has joined the mix with an intriguing concept - bibs on, gloves on, and seafood all over the place (and in your face)! thanks to martin from morsels and the grab a yabby team for my invitation to the free food blogger feast :d

likes: hands-on dining, very fresh seafood, sensational beef ribs

dislikes: the shellfish is expensive (but that’s true of all market priced seafood)

overall: messy delicious fun with seafood feasts, a unique dining experience

grab a yabby is a great hands on experience!! food was absolutely amazing and the staff are very informative and attentive😊 if u want somewhere to eat with amazing flavours with homemade sauces and recipes and a great welcoming atmosphere grab a yabby is definetly the place to eat🦐🦀🦐🦀

this place is recently opened.and after reading review from other foodies we want to give it a shot.
definitely, recommend this place..
definitely something different..and when you eat here be prepare to get messy..but fun
we tried butter garlic yabbies, scotch fillet, and kids seafood combo
love all of them. can't wait to be back and try different flavour
love their customer service as well, she is so friendly.

seafood is great, recommend having the grab a yabby special with it. soft shell crab sliders and bbq beef ribs are amazing, by far my fav. service is a bit lacking but the fun atmosphere and food made up for it.

the most amazing seafood! the sauce you can't get enough of! i recommend the soft shell grab sliders, clams, shrimps, and you can't leave out the yabbies! you won't be able to find seafood like this anywhere around. great place to take a date and get messy. i brought my girlfriend here and we had a great time. service was great and the food came fast!!! i can't wait to be back again!

lunch for two $160. seafood lunch so it wasn't the price that was surprising. it was the young teenage girls in the kitchen cooking and not a chef. sauces taste like they are from a packet. expensive fast food style dining sums it up. disappointed!
