love gordo's!!. we have been here several times and have had great food every time. the mushroom appetizer is fantastic - can't get enough of that cheesy goodness. the burgers are great! sorry for the people who get sucky service, but we have had greatserviceand food each time. their drinks are made well too!

went here with my husband for some drinks and appetizers. the beer here is always good, nice selection. the burgers are very good as well. this time we had the wings, nachos, and spring rolls. the wings and nachos were very good but the spring rolls were not. and the dipping sauce was inedible. it tasted like old frying oil.serviceis not great either. the girls working basically seat you, take your order and you never see them again. i watched a guy sit with his burger in front of him for 10 min waiting for someone to cone around to flag them down so he could tell them his order was wrong. i feel like the waitresses are trying to ignore you so that they aren't bothered. they spend all their time standing at the bar.
i like the food for the most part and the beer is great, but theserviceneeds major improvement.

great burgers!. i've only been in once, and had no expectations-greatest burger i've had in cincinnati! terrific bun and toppings, mine had boursin cheese and bacon.servicea little slow especially for a weeknight but great food. veggie side also delicious.

horribleservice(stacy). okay here are my comments about the time/money i wasted at gordos. i went expecting a nice evening with friends for a going away dinner and came away aggravated with the service. we had a large party (about 12 people), but the place was dead when we walked in so we didn’t think this was going to be an issue. stacy our bartender/waitress was the only person in the front of the house and there was one guy in the kitchen. she brought out our drinks in a timely manner, but the food was another story. our table was clearly above her competency level. our soups trickled onto the tables no earlier than half an hour later, but she forgot three orders. our burgers came another hour after that. the fries were cold and soggy by that time. once we got our food stacy didn’t come back once. we felt like we were bothering her conversation with the greasy guy in the kitchen to ask for refills. here’s the worst part!!!!!!! my friend tried to explain how the check should be split up when we were finishing, but she said threw the bill at her and said you guys figure this out! after sitting there with a pen and paper for 20 minutes we got it all straightened out (or so we thought) a girl from my party had to physically go behind the bar to ring it to where no one had to front a $250 bill by themselves. after a half hour of guiding stacy through her computer program like a blind mule we discovered she did the exact same thing with all the drinks so we had to do the same process over again! everyone was so frustrated at this girl’s rude unhelpful attitude. i felt like since she already added the gratuity she didn’t care that herservicewas subpar to say it nicely. she told us when everything was done and over she made an expectation for us because they were so dead, and that next we’d all have to sit at different tables to get split checks. thanks but i will not be returning to the place and stacy needs a course in customerserviceor a different career path. it was so hard to remain calm when we were getting nothing, but nasty attitude thrown in our face for spending our money at their establishment. we spent half the night trying to fix stacy’s mistakes when all we really wanted was a night dedicated to our friend who was leaving. this place just lost 12 potential return customers because of the horrible service.

not going back. just got back from gordo's and thought i'd share my experience. i walked in and sat at the bar. there were only 3 other customers in the restaurant. two waitresses were sitting at the bar wrapping silverware in napkins. i was 3 bar stools from them. i sat there for 5 minutes and was not acknowledged. there was no bartender present. finally i walked up to the two waitresses and asked if they could take my order. one was surprised that i had walked up to her. the other took my order acting as if i should not have approached them. my burger was eventually brought to me. the waitress walked away while i was asking her for ketschup - she either did not hear or ignored my request. a few minutes later she asked me if everything was alright but before i could answer her she looked away and started talking to someone else. later when i asked her why the poorserviceshe said they were busy folding napkins and had not noticed that i had walked in. in my world, it's her job to notice. the bartender was equally rude. the burger was tough and too peppery. but i was hungry so ate half of it and left. why bother eating at a restaurant where the staff couldn't care less about you and make you feel like you either stink or have three heads? i'd had good experiences at gordo's before, but the food andserviceare inconsistent. after tonight, i will not bother going back. there are friendlier places to get a burger. places that at least pretend they care. gordo's didn't even pretend. btw, the bar closes whenever the staff decides they should close, not at 2pm as stated in most of the on line guides. tonight they closed at 10:30. they have a good beer selection but the humiliation isn't worth it. i wish that i had just stayed home. thanks gordo's for making me feel like nobody - i won't forget it.

the food here is excellent! the burgers are unique and delicious (including the odd pb&j burger). what is nice is that gordo will change up his speciality burgers from time to time.serviceis good, but the food takes a while to come out. luckily, they have a great selection of beers and a nice atmosphere to help make the wait more enjoyable. fully recommend this restaurant.

wah wah wah!. let me preface this review by stating i have been in theserviceindustry for over ten years in various capacities from management to server. this is hands down one of the worst restaurants i have ever been to! innatentive staff, and subpar food! i expected great things and was sadly disapointed. the bartender was very inattentive and more concerned with the tv, and his cellphone. it took nearly ten minutes to get his attention and drinks with maybe 5 other people sitting at the bar. my girlfriend ordered the pear and blue cheese salad, and i the surf and turf. after around a 25 minute wait we recieved our food. the server acknowledged that she forgot to bring the dressing with the salad, and said be right back. to her this meant go to the end of the bar and chat with my friends for 5 mins while we stare her down until her friend looks at us and says "problem?"... p.s. we are sitting at the bar so where is the bartender in all of this as well? we ask said server for the dressing and get it a efw moments later. i then finally proceed to cut my burger quite a while after recieving it. i ordered it medium, and it was well done for starters. secondly there was no bernaise on it, and took another 5 mins to get the bartenders attention to get a side of it. by this time i am furious and sharing my gf's salad. all in all it was a terrible meal of which i maybe ate a 1/4 of my burger. it is an hour of my life and a few dollars that i will never get back. i highly recomend going elswhere for your burger dining pleasure such as terry's, cityview,,or quatmans!

gordo doesn't get-it. can't comment on the food since by the time my order was found & prepared i reached a boiling point. my apologies to those patrons who witnessed my displeasure with how we were treated. no regrets, no apologies, just a blank stare from old gordo as if "who are you to complain". don't expect even averageservicefrom this establishment.

we had a large crowd and asked "old gordo" to provide more support to our waitress but none was provided. we flagged down the bartender as he passed by and he said he could take a drink order but replied no since "it wasn't his station". as most of the party was finishing their meal the waitress realized some of us didn't receive our order, duh. just a total apathy towards providing great customer service.

i read through many reviews on urbanspoon and ifservicewas mentioned it's 50/50 at best.serviceapathy! i lost my appetite by the time my order was finally served.

really liked it, really. but.... 3 adults, 1 sixteen yr. old, 2 < 10 kids...

i had the gordo's burger - cooked a perfect medium as ordered, with a bun that held up extremely well. the bacon was crisp, sauteed onions and mushrooms flavorful, and the goat cheese was warm but not runny. loved it!!! i give it an 8.5 out of 10...only because i want to allow other burgers a fighting chance if they so deserve it. 9.5 is as high as i go, only nadia gets a perfect 10...

my wife had the jean-robert burger. same rating...she loved it! the grape compote was an unexpected favorite.

everyone else in our party was a serious regular, and their entrees were of the high quality they rightfully expected. ok, one of them was one of the kids, but her mac-n-cheese was huge and awesome - love the broccoli florets !

however...

the side dishes left a bit too be desired. i opted for polenta instead of fries as my side, and i was disappointed. crisp on the outside is good, but dry throughout is not. it was more like really dry cornbread...
two others got the green beans as their side, knowing it has always been terrific, but somehow it was different tonight, and didn't like it. consistency is important.

food gets a a- / b+ it was very good.


service was well below par however. our server was very nice, but it was apparent that he was more than simply a server. my guess is that he was the manager on duty, and was waiting on us because no one else could. he was busting his butt overseeing the whole place, which i totally respect, but that doesn't cut it when basic tableservicesuffers. i had to flag him down 4 times during our meal:

1 - my wife ordered a beer once we were seated and after 10 minutes i had to get some one's attention to actually bring it to the table.

2 - we have 2 under 10yr. old kids that would like to order off the children's menu. can we get one ?

3 - can we replace this side dish for another ? 15, yes 15 minutes later she got it. that's too long...

4 - after i stacked up all of our empty plates and put them at the far end of our table (sorry, but i'm all about pre-bussing tables) and the unrequested check showed up on the table, i got his attention to order 3 desserts, 3 coffee's and 2 after dinner drinks (a $34 addition to the check). that's well worth the extra 10-15 minutes of table time.

gonna giveservicea 7 out of 10 because i think he was really trying hard, and his table side manner was great - hey, 5 out of 10 is truly average, and it could've been a 9.0 (except for the east german judge), if he just had a bit of support.


mr. gordo - please shell out another $3.65/hr for another server on the dinner shift - it's worth it . perhaps a part time server xu student that would be happy with $50-$75 a shift...

look, i really like this place, and i love that rg stuck his neck out here. just a bit more attention to theserviceside and this place will be over the top! we will certainly be back very soon.

great food, but a little slow. i thought the food was great, and probably one of the better burgers that i've had. theservicewas good but it took a long time for our food to arrive. we went during lunch on a friday so it was crowded, but it still took a really long time. it seemed to be being prepared one table at a time. i would recommend going right when they open or a little later for lunch.

better than average. they've got a great beer selection (stone levitation ale and dogfish head 60 min ipa on draft), good burgers/fries, excellent fried fish sandwich and decent prices. theserviceisn't very fast-so be sure you've got enough time.
