finally i got a gudrestaurantin udaipur, they are serving yummy rajasthan nd gujarati thali,had a very nice experience .

gordhan thali - a thali restaurant....

to start with, gordhan thalirestaurantt is the next best alternative to natraj thalirestaurantwhich happens to be another thalirestaurantthat is only much more popular in udaipur.

after waiting for a while outside, we were asked to enter and ended up surprised to find that the entire ground floor of therestaurantwas completely empty. therestaurantwas packed on the first floor but it was beyond my understanding as to why guests were asked to wait when therestaurantwas literally half empty.

we started with our lunch and the gujarathi-rajasthani mix thali began to fill steadily. the thali is unlimited and almost 20-25 items are served to you, including the pickles etc.

the dal bati churma here was the best part of the plate. the entire plate tasted good and it felt great to be having this mix of traditional dishes.

the service here starts quick but later on we had to call out to the staff for whatever we wanted. at the end of our meal we realised that we were served atleast two items less as compared to other guests.

the entire thali comes at a price of 270/- which is budget-friendly but higher when compared to its contemporaries.

note : they have a nice waiting space with cots. make certain you are having everything that is supposed to be in the thali.

stumbled upon this place while searching for unlimited thali restaurants near my hotel. turned out there were lots of famous places.
this place is near to the railway station of udaipur. the entrance was royaly decorated just like a palace. the place is quite and has a dim setting.
you will only get their special unlimited thali.
at the time of writing this, the price was ₹270 per person. the menu changes daily with lots of variety in every course.

dishes tasted:
👉 farsan
sandwich dhokla: small bites size white dhokla with green and red chutneys in between. tasted average. (3/5)
phool bhaji: short and thin deep fried snacks made up of gram flour. crispy outside with soft inside with just a flicker of red chilli flavour. (3/5)
👉 vegetables:
paneer tuffani: tangy and spicy paneer sabji with soft and small cubes of paneer based on red sauce. this dish is common in most of the thali. best among all the vegetables. (4/5).
gavar lasaniya: simple, medium spiced sabzi. (3/5).
aloo tomato rasawala: sweet aloo sabzi consisting of cube sizes potatoes. due to its sweet taste, it didn't go well with the breads. (2/5)
white chawla dahi walla: spicy sabzi consisting of pulses. average in taste. (3/5)
👉 breads:
puri: this was almost an one biter. it was served hot. must have it with the paneer sabzi.
roti: this was medium sized topped with a spoon of ghee. (4/5).
👉 dal bati: the bati is served mashed and the dal was poured over it. the dal could have been more spicy. average dish (3/5)
👉 dal: most of the thali restaurants have two types of dal: sweet (gujarat) and spicy ( rajasthani). this dal was different than the one poured over the bati.(3/5)
👉 sweet
aam ras: unlimited aam ras are always pleasant. it was served cold and was thick. not too sweet. (4/5)

👉 conclusion: overall thisrestaurantticks almost all the points. great atmosphere, attentive staff and more importantly good food. if you are looking for a budget thalirestaurantthen this could be a good choice. even though the famous natraj dining hall is beside it, i felt gordhan thal was better.

located just near natrajrestaurantand it serves amazing buffet rajasthani gujrati thali. i had an awesome experience here . amazing taste . their coconut chutney was mind blowing . i bet you will gonna have awesome experience when you will visit here . must visit

a familyrestaurantwhich serves pure veg. food. the interior including furniture and other basic amenities is good. taste is homely. i would recommend this place to all those people who are searching for "ghar jesa khaana". location is very convenient.

100% veg: thisrestaurantsits next to natraj eatery opp. udaipur railway station, and hosts rajasthani thali (an unlimited veg buffet resembling home food where you are served at your table).

interior decor is excellent, and combined with the slightly-high label price, it is clear they are looking to serve an elite clientele. food is served on brass plates and glasses, and consists of authentic veg rajasthani dishes. quality is home-class, nothing too exciting. there are complementary 'chinese'  items too, like noodles and manchurian, but that's all.

i found the experience of eating here severely underwhelming. not at all congruent with their premium pricing - elitism be damned! next time, i'd rather spend my money on a betterrestaurantoffering better taste.

i and my girlfriend went there to have lunch, surprisingly we reached too early.restaurantwas just open. door man open the door so politely and therestaurantteam welcomed us so well. food was very tasty and the staff too polite . we loved it. the only problem i faced was the edc machine was not working. rest everything was great.

i have listened about the place and decided to visit . while i visit i loved their presentation and took some snapshots.
when i explored it on zomato, what i found the pics with exact angle .
the view of this places click in their mind ,exactly same as clicked to me. so our snaps became identical.

it is a another joint after natraj to offer thali with multiple verities .we got more than 10 katories in single thal , so we got opportunity
to taste varieties .

coming to food, it is delicious. usually i don't take sweets but when i ate halwa and kheer, i got the perfect taste. daal baati was as delicious as it should be. pieces of khaman and utappam taste smooth along with paneer ki sabzi. chach was also awesome. overall food was delicious.

about ambience , as i told the place has good ambiance. the theme reflects it is a nice place. the utensils used are typically traditional.

about services, the staff is very polite. all are well dressed,punctual and tried to serve the best . what we want is inrestaurantis a quick service of eatables , what they are giving . so it became a nice experience for us for a family dinner.

one of the places to dine at while at udaipur. lucrative menu.. well balanced. food has subtle flavour and aroma. hardly spiced. don't go for gujrati versions being mildly sweet. service seemed butter smooth throughout. the objection on carrying mineral water out ofrestaurantsurprised a bit. heads up.. as it's just not about food, but an experience

in thali system restaurants in udaipur, it is arestaurantwhich can be considered once in a while. mineral water is being served to all the guests and gujarati taste. some dishes make thisrestaurantunique in its own different way. try it!@
