i have listened about the place and decided to visit . while i visit i loved their presentation and took some snapshots.
when i explored it on zomato, what i found the pics with exact angle .
the view of this places click in their mind ,exactly same as clicked to me. so our snaps became identical.

it is a another joint after natraj to offer thali with multiple verities .we got more than 10 katories in single thal , so we got opportunity
to taste varieties .

coming to food, it is delicious. usually i don't take sweets but when i ate halwa and kheer, i got the perfect taste. daal baati was as delicious as it should be. pieces of khaman and utappam taste smooth along with paneer ki sabzi. chach was also awesome. overall food was delicious.

about ambience , as i told the place has good ambiance. the theme reflects it is a nice place. the utensils used are typically traditional.

about services, the staff is very polite. all are well dressed,punctual and tried to serve the best . what we want is in restaurant is a quick service of eatables , what they are giving . so it became a nice experience for us for a family dinner.

gordan thal, is the right place if you want authentic rajasthani food. food is really very amazing. i'll advise you to visit here. full value for money. i would like to recommend them to keep churma everyday.

may 2016:

recently, we were in udaipur, and we relished this rajasthani - gujrati thali at 'gordhan thal'.

with a typical old 'rajgharana' style royal entrance, with artificial brackets and pillars, this place serves good and authentic food, without any server or waiter standing on top of your head.

we were served:

special item: rajasthani dal, bati and churma

salad: mixed salad

starters: dal ka bada, idra / khatta dhokla and mini dosa

chutneys: hari chutney, imli ki chutney, nariyal ki chutney and lahsun ki chutney

dal & sabji: gujrati dal and kadhi, sprouted moth, aloo, paneer in tomato gravy

rice & roti: gehun ka fulka, bajre ki roti, rice and chilke wali dal ki khichdi

papad: disco papad i.e. the miniature round papads

desserts: dal ka halwa and aamras

mukhwas: assorted mukhwas

it goes without saying, that ample ghee was on offer for dal-bati and rotis. strangely they serve mineral water bottles in a wired mesh, that disables diners from taking it out, or carry it back with them!

menu price: rs. 240/-

there was a heavy taxation on thali rate.also staff is not that courtious.food quality was decent but not exceptional.natraj is far better in its comparison.

oh...amazing food.. if u don't like to select menu what should i take...then u should go there it's a nice place very good staff behaver also a good food there is unlimited thali and many item for selection to u can take ...and this is a rajsthani gujrati tradition ther is also surv dal bati it's and rajsthani food very good food ...and this is a good restorent

one of the best experience. enjoyed lunch twice, the first day & the last day at udaipur. shrikhand & emarti is the best of all.

one of the best authentic thali restaurants i have been to.
while the dal-bati wasnt the best the rest of the items were simple and delicious.

one of the places to dine at while at udaipur. lucrative menu.. well balanced. food has subtle flavour and aroma. hardly spiced. don't go for gujrati versions being mildly sweet. service seemed butter smooth throughout. the objection on carrying mineral water out of restaurant surprised a bit. heads up.. as it's just not about food, but an experience

in thali system restaurants in udaipur, it is a restaurant which can be considered once in a while. mineral water is being served to all the guests and gujarati taste. some dishes make this restaurant unique in its own different way. try it!@

i have been here for the second time and the place is amazing as ever.. quality of food is superb and the choices seems to be unlimited ..

best part is staff don't stare at you like in other thali restruants .. would have rated 5 but giving 4 due to so called complimentary bottle of mineral water , you are not allowed to take away.. haven't ng paid for the bottle .. one should be allowed to take it away if one feels ...

have breakfast and lunch on different dates in this restro.both experiences were good.in lunch had gujrati thali and it was simply superb.service was also good.ambience was ok.prices are worthy the food.

i have eaten in many gujarati restaurants but i will rate this as the best gujju food ever. food is better than its original outlet in ahmedabad. the service was really good and attentive. the food i will repeat was divine.
