gobble stop smokehouse

i’ve written about gobblestopsmokehouse before, a family-owner bbq restaurant in creve coeur specializing in poultry, but i wasn’t happy with my photo of their turkey ribs. at least that’s the excuse i’ll use. i don’t have much to add to my last post – this place has the best smoked poultry in town.

gobblestophas the best smoked turkey i've ever had. hands down. they're not shy about how good their smoked chicken is either. if you couldn't tell from my raving above, i very much enjoyed everything i ate, and service was excellent as well. i think it's rare that i find foods that i'm head over heels with, but gobblestop has certainly provided that. come to think of it, this thanksgiving, i think i'm likely to simply buy my turkey [and chicken] from them. i think after you try it, you might just be of the same opinion.

can you believe it, time for another bbq post! gobblestopsmokehouse in creve coeur opened in 2012 and i was confident it was going to fail.  why?  they serve only turkey and chicken.  how can you have a bbq place without any pork or beef offerings?!?!?  since they found a way to survive, i figured i better finally give it a try.  once i did, this place quickly earned a spot in my regular rotation of dining options. the dish i order the most frequently is the smoked wings.  take a peek at this: the wings have a perfect smoky flavor without being dried out. they serve them with a sweet sauce that they will put on for you or you can have it on the side.  they do have a spicier sauce available if you request it.  after eating these wings i don’t see a need to ever eat a breaded and fried wing again. one time i was so excited i didn’t wait to get home, i just opened the box outside at one of their tables and went to work!. i have tried a handful of the sides and all were satisfactory.  th
