giant chef burger

had an order of fresh potato chips ($4): potato slices freshly fried & salted to taste. food was delicious, staff was up late, and the ambiance was fundamental.

true american cheap diner!

they recommend us to order their "state" famous fried steak, and amazingly it was great!
for $10,99 we received a large piece of either meat/chicken steak (300gr), 3 eggs the way u like, 4 toast/biscuits, and fries on the side.

food portion was big and cheap for a total of $13 (include tax and tips)

worst service - ever!!!
yesterday my friend and i went to starbucks for our morning beverages. on our way home, we passed by giant chef burger and decided to stop for breakfast. when we sat down at the patio outside, our waitress informed us that we were not allowed to bring our drinks in. i moved them onto the floor and she left. i got a mug for my friend to pour some of his coffee in (i had finished my drink). when the waitress came back she informed us that she was going to charge us for a coffee because my friend wasn't supposed to drink his own coffee. i moved the coffee away and told her that i wouldn't pay for a coffee. she went into a long tirade about how she was going to get in trouble, how the boss video tapes them, etc. she said she was going to go get her boss. in the meantime, she brought our meals out and before we could start eating the "boss" (i think the owner) came over to us and the abuse began. in an arrogant and hostile voice, he reiterated the rule that no outside beverages were allowed on the premises. he was so rude. my friend said, "fine, we'll leave", and the boss got verbally abusive. he called my friend names, pushed his chest into my friend and proceeded to follow us to my car. he said, "you wouldn't take your own liquor into a bar!" my friend said, "i don't drink" and the boss replied, "well, you look like someone who drinks!" eventually some police came over to calm things down. he continued to swear and berate my friend with insults and vulgar language while we got in the car to leave. i have never encountered a restaurant employee who was so hostile and rude. and over a cup of coffee. of course we would never go back to this restaurant and don't recommend it - at all! that boss was a real jerk!

best chicken fried steak in the us. as far as i'm concerned when you think of breakfast joints, it's places like giant chef that should have their picture next to the description. it is a small, yet homey place to eat. i've eaten there for years. my favorite seat is at the counter to watch the line cooks make my meal. the kitchen is literally in the center of the place and open for all to see. aside from the rest of the good food there, my favorite is the chicken fried steak with their white sausage gravy, 3 eggs any way you want and hash browns as big as the oversized oval plate. that steak and gravy are made fresh daily. it is thick, juicy and deep fried. it's the best chicked fried steak i've ever had anywhere in the us and i've had plenty. bring cash, that's all they take and kathleen, my favorite waitress is one of a kind. they don't make women like her anymore. period.

the owners, dean, paula, nick, and irene are the best !!! the place is spotless. the food is fresh and wonderful. i have been going there for over 20 years and my grandchildren love it. the health dept eats there. best employees in the world and great customers too. lots of time you have to wait in line but the wait is worth it. cash only.

i can see why locals come and wait in line to eat here. the staff is attentive and the place gives you that feeling like you're having breakfast at home. it's small and casual. come hungry, there's a good amount of food on each order. can't say it was best places i've been to for breakfast, but i can't say i won't go back again. if you're in the area and you don't mind the wait, go here instead of going to denny's.

i am so glad i found this place on urbanspoon. we stopped at denny's then decided to use the mobile app and thank god! giant chef burger is soooo good and kathleen rocked. she may very well be the best waitress that has ever helped me. how often does someone introduce themselves then memorize and introduce thier customers to other staff???? on top of the quality service the food was amazing. i may very well become a regular even though i live 30 mins away!

i can never pass up onion rings. these rings are delicious with a good ratio of batter to onion, which are real slices of onion (not chopped and formed) and fried to a crunchy chewy texture that is just perfect dipped into ranch dressing.

great breakfast, great price. i couldn't finish my food. worth the wait if there is a crowd.
