wine bar. absolutely fell in love with their wine bar (out back) last night. it was my first visit there (though not first to gianmarco's). it's an adorable and cozy atmosphere. the wine and food were incredible, but the service is what stood out most. david was our server and he attended to our every need (even walking us to our car with an umbrella in the pouring rain). we're now planning to go back every two weeks; it was a perfect evening!

some of the best italian in birmingham. great atmosphere too.

good dining. great food and excellent service. i am not a pasta fanatic, but this place has delicious eats for all palates!

great aniversary cruise kickoff!!!. my wife and i went for dinner and sat in the wine bar( we didn't realize we needed reservations for the dinning room which is booked about three weeks out) and had a great time and the food was fine fine fine!!!!! it was one of the better dinning experiences i have ever had period! great wine selection!!!

hidden treasure. for whatever reason i seem to always forget about this restaurant even though it is always outstanding. very quaint. not too small but certainly not too large either. the bar is small though and can get very crowded given the size. never had a bad meal here.

this place is an absolute joke in terms of “fine dining.” i had gone before for a company dinner and thought it would be a nice treat for my husbands birthday. (as long as he got the parm the food would be worth it.)

i made a reservation a month in advance. a week later i called to up the number of people. no answer. i called again that week, no answer. this continued for 3 weeks. (all in their hours of operation.) when i finally got ahold of someone they told me they couldn’t not accommodate because they had booked bigger parties for the same night and did not have space. then told me i “should have called sooner.” i mentioned my number of efforts. when i asked why no one was answering my calls and the answer was “i don’t know.” did i mention you can’t leave a voicemail either? when i asked about moving the reservation i was told no. when i asked to talk to talk to someone else, i was also told no and was hung up on.

extremely disappointed and will never return.

ate while passing through atlanta. they squeezed us in on a busy night. service was quick. food was good even though they were out of my first choice so early in the evening. they don't have a kids menu but do offer half size portions.

i had also heard many great things about this place, and was looking forward to eating there. the prices were about what i expected, but the flavor of the dishes was not. i was completely underwhelmed with the food, as was my date, whose quote was 'i really wanted to like it, but i didn't . i echo those comments.

great food but rude service. the food was excellent, but it was an uncomfortable dining experience. we waited at the entrance to be seated, while the owner walked past ignoring us. after we were seated, our server, david, never asked if we wanted appetizers. he glared at one of our guests when she asked for bread with her meal, as if it was an imposition. she never got the bread. after our entrees, we discussed dessert with him, he disappeared, then reappeared and asked if it would be separate checks. we had to remind him we wanted dessert. he obviously did not want to serve our table, even though there were empty tables in the restaurant. we got the desserts and coffee, but no spoons for the coffee. such a shame to serve wonderful food, but have a server that is so overtly rude to guests. it took two hours for lunch because our server was inattentive.

the veal marsala was delicious,,,,,,

as a chef i expect exceptional food when coming to a place that everyone talks about and is rated so high. i don't know where others have eaten but second visit and still not blown away. wild rice ravioli was bland on this visit and service in the bar area is terrible. maybe there's a dish here that is great but i haven't found it.

we love this place! every time we go they are super busy so get there early! the food is always great and there wine selection is like none i’ve every seen! the wait staff is always very nice and knowledgeable.

ooh anniversary dinner date hotspot! reservations are a must as is valet parking at this neighbourhood fine dining restaurant! having fine-dined and farm-dined and pizzeria-dined in italy and england (where the best food is italian) i wasn't impressed with gianmarco's take on italian fine-dining. sorry. but i'll never pass up a chance to sip or dine at the wine bar in the back! they carry my favourite white wine, riff, that i've not found anywhere outside of one other restaurant in new orleans. also great port options! great atmosphere too.

this year... we had our company christmas dinner at gianmarco's! they prepared a fabulous special menu with a few of their popular favs: ribeye, rack of lamb, grouper, and lasagna! the food was good and the private dining service was personable as expected! i was mostly impressed with the constant appetizer service. we were not expecting to get tray after tray of samplings. the miniature crab cakes were soooo good. our overall experience was great! the only negative was the lack of cleanliness of the restroom. i was shocked. but thankfully i'd already enjoyed dinner and had a few glasses of wine. i didn't bother to complain.
