gelato blue

yum!. gelato blue has the best gelato ever! we always stop by when we're in newtown. the fact that they're always friendly and helpful, plus have an amazing variety of gelato is what won us over. being lactose intolerant i love that there are always amazing vegan options to choose from that taste great. banana pancake is a favourite of my daughter's :)

gelato blue-the best of all!!!. the name already sounds refreshing, clean, pure and delicious!!
we say "not quantity but quality!", what about when a place have both?!!! yes, gelato blue has it all.
the quantity of flavors drives me nuts because i can not make my mind, so every visit i get a three scoops on a cone and a 1.5lt tube to go.
all the flavors are divine, and catered to all, vegans, non vegans, the refined boutique critics or to the conservative ones that just want the best of chocolate or lemon sorbet.
and i love seeing a family business, that runs like a family. some greek words in between them that we know it isn't say :-), some great smiles across the counter from the father and/or fotini(the daughter) making the gelatos, her mother serving gold to the clients and love expressed through the gelatos!!!

where do i even start... it doesn't get any better than gelato blue.
as you walk in you are hit by the most amazing smell and greeted by the loveliest staff members. they have everything from cakes and coffee, to hand made chocolates, freshly roasted nuts, warm waffles and of course a huge range of gelato and sorbet.
they are often coming up with wonderful new flavours and always cater to your dietry needs. whether it be gluten free, vegan or nut free.
as someone that does not eat dairy it is so wonderful to walk into a store with such a huge range of exciting dairy free options.
i can never say no to the vegan roche. yum.

this place is ok and their ice cream has a fine taste.
it seem to be their catching up with the ice cream place around is a bit behind.
not so many choice and topping for their ice cream.
but when you want a decent ice cream and have a good taste.. this place is.

a disappointing wait. i spotted this place in march, but only just made the excuse to try what looked like amazing gelato. being lactose intolerant, i was really impressed by the wide range of sorbets, opting for the pear and cinnamon and peanut butter and chocolate. at $7 for two small scoops, this place isn't cheap. and unfortunately, the sorbet was icy (as if repeatedly re-frozen) and quite bland. the extent of the peanut butter was a few frozen hunks of cheap salty smooth peanut-butter. the gelatissimo chocolate sorbet is ten times better. so disappointing.

just go there and you'll be alright.. forget messina! they're rubbish compared to gelato blue!

amazing!!! delicious vegan options. gelato blue is, in fact, the best gelato i have come across in a long time. i wish i lived in sydney. really high quality. the shop belongs to a sweet family that really cares for the customers and makes sure we are happy. as a vegan, they are extremely helpful and will explain about the gelato and have you try several flavors.
i can't wait to be back in sydney!!!

yummy & exciting flavours. the fig & walnut gelato is definitely worth trying, it's full of flavours without being too sweet. i also noticed some pretty creative gelato flavours while there, can't wait to taste them on my next visit!

thumbs up from a gelato junkie. i take my gelato eating very seriously and never return to a place if the gelato is bad.
gelato blue doesn't disappoint. rich, creamy flavours, very generous scoops, and good service. if you are in the newtown area i highly recommend you drop in. big shoutout for their salted peanut butter & dark chocolate flavour gelato - bought a take home tub last visit and it's made me a very happy gelato eater tonight :)

best gelato in newtown - the hazelnut gelato and white chocolate gelato are my favourites !

yum!. great quality gelato with a huge variety of flavours. stand out was the american peanut butter, and greek yoghurt with fig and walnuts. a must try in newtown!

great variety for vegans!. gelato blue has a great selection of gelato! always changing their menu which keeps me coming back for more! they also have a great variety of vegan gelato & sorbets which my friends and i absolutely love! thanks gelato blue! great to see you have amazing vegan friendly gelato!

amazing gelato :). i have been to gelato blue 3 times already. i have not been disappointed on any of my visits. the gelato here is definitely comparable to messina! there is a wide range of flavours (including vegan-friendly options) and i always feel spoilt for choice. i have tried nutella, white chocolate & almond, cookies & cream, tiramisu and pistachio. out of these ones, white chocolate & almond is probably my favourite! however, there are so many more and i can't wait to try all of them. the staff here are friendly and i simply love the store. i would definitely recommend getting dessert here :)
