kebab lover's paradise - yet another gazebo outlet.

as usual there was the interesting task of choosing starters from their over flowing menu. we chose the seekh -e- dum pukht kebab, murgh kalimirch, paneer tikka and the murgh kasthoori kebab. the kebabs were fresh and succulent. my favorite is the minced meat seekh-e- dum pukht kebab. my friends vouch for the kalimirch murgh.

for the mains we ordered the boti hyderabadibiryani(mutton) and the reshmi kebabbiryani(chicken). the presentation in the earthen pot with the puffed up roti top was nice. the muttonbiryaniwas the best seller. the chicken was a little dry when compared to the mutton biryani.

we ended the meal with the cool and creamy mango kheer and the hot and sugary gulab jamun.

i am afraid i do not have many pics since my hunger got the better of me!
overall this is a must try place for kebab lovers.

gazebo is famous in dubai particularly for its various aromatic biryanis that are served up in a clay pot that is sealed with dough. gazebo is now open in al ain, albeit a fair distance (about a 25 mins drive) from the town center.

we tried the grilled shrimps, chicken masalabiryani& the chicken tikka masala. food was generally good and high quality, though i felt thebiryaniwas not as outstanding as the one they serve in dubai, but still good nonetheless. gulab jamun & ras malai for dessert were both truly delicious.

because it is so far away from the city center, i wonder how many people that aren't nearby would drive there frequently, given the good quality of indian food available in other parts of town.

over all food quality just ok. it is not like gazebo dubai, where food quality is really good. here even signature dish like hammour tikka biryaniwas poor quality. other dishes also just ok. decor and service was good.

my exact rating would be a 4.5.
except for the fact that one has to travel quite a distance from the town centre, i have no complaints against this amazing indian restaurant located at neima near the feet of jabal hafeet. the ambience is so pleasant and it’s a highly family friendly place with private cubicles where you can enjoy a lot of privacy. the food here just blew me off. to go light on the starters, we had ordered the murgh samosa which to me was the best samsosa i had ever had. it was soft and crispy at the same time, the filling was succulent and aromatic. for the mains, we had ordered ghosht kalimirch and breads which tasted so good. there was a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, hot flavours. everyone should definitely try the khasta roti and taftans, they are one of a kind. we had ordered bombay murghbiryaniwhich was the chefs special. biryanis come in small traditional earthen pots covered on top by roti. i am sure biryanis are a hit in this place which we could see from the orders that kept going out from the kitchen. we wanted to try their special chenna payesh but unfortunately it was not available, so we tried the angoori rabri which just made our day. on the whole, i can say that this place is the best bet for tasty and good value for money indian food in al ain. not to forget, the staff we very courteous and the food reached our tables right on time. i would definitely visit this place again and try their kebabs, biryani, chenna payesh and click some decent pictures of the delicious food.

went to this location after our jabel hafeet drive
location is in the mall , they had private cabins for families and i was really hoping to be seated in one of those however the manager said all are occupied n will let us know when one opens up !
anyways we got seated in centre open table and found it quite noisy since its in a mall opposite kids play area !
food quality was good , portions for paneer kurkure was really less !
vegbiryaniwas ok , not the best
manager never called or told about the status of the any available cabins , felt disappointed as it was too noisy and not a pleasant dining experience:-(

location:
located a little far away from the town. you have to keep driving on past the cement factory instead of turning left for jabel hafeet. after another 10 or so km you reach makani mall where this is. you need to go to the food court and this is just outside it after the baby shop

ambience:
great ambience, very clean, nice wood work , private cabins to suit local preferences are available in plenty.

food:
we had tandoori prawns, tandoori chicken, veg samosas, lamb chops, dumbiryani, garlic naans and butter chicken

the food is average. the naans are not served with garlic butter, but are encrusted with roasted shredded garlic, not to my taste

the prawns and tandoor chicken looked ok, but haven’t had the time for the marinade to penetrate and just didn’t taste right , like raw chilly in it? b minus to c

the chops were highly recommended, but were just average. the butter chicken was ditto, so-so. no flavor , no where near the way my wife makes it or the one we had in coriander last week c

the dumbiryanihad tender meat and was presented well, but just didn’t taste all that great. not enough gravy, i think . again ...average

the fruit salad looked great, but had the common problem of the fruits diced too large, not very palatable. i always wonder why something so simple is so difficult to come across done properly!

milkshakes, too sweet, but pretty good, especially chocolate. vanilla: way too much sugar and mango lassi didn’t have the tang of lassi: again, average, not bad, not exceptional

the kesar falooda was also a b minus...

service :
service was good, but , just like the food, not exceptional and with a smile like at coriander. the manager , however, takes a interest , and is to be commended. his staff , however, are lackluster in comparison

one expects a good cuisine recommendation especially when in for the first time, a smile and a degree of interest. like the food, the service is just about acceptable, but it isn’t great.

the meal ends with no finger bowl. this is an indian restaurant, one eats with ones fingers, you expect a small brass finger bowl filled with warm water and a slice of lime. it’s kinda standard.

nope, no bowl, no wash basin. the waiter unapologetically told me we’d have to go to the washroom outside the restaurant in the food court. he then offered plus wet wipes. adequate, but not just there.

so, in short, average service , acceptable , but uninspired food, good ambience, but nothing exceptional.

all in all not worth a repeat visit, imo...

was here after a bit of searching for a place in al ain that will suit both my wife, a vegetarian and me, a meat lover at best, to have lunch.

we were greeted like royalty and looked after like royalty - the staff deserve a pat on their backs for that - the seating arrangements gives you a load of privacy - big plus if you are going to indulge yourself in on your food

they would have got a 5 star from me save for the fact that i was a bit disappointed by a few things

the recommendations by the staff were good, they seemed to know their menu well - the portion size of the starter was a touch small (paneer tikka - the red one) 0.5 knocked off
the chickenbiryanisuggested was good - loved it
after a nice meal eaten the indian way (with your hands of course) you are left with the discomfort of wiping off the grime with wet tissues - yuck; 0.5 points knocked off
i suppose my wife enjoyed her naan and mixed veg dish

strongly recommended if you have your own wheels to get around and reach this place as it was literally in the goonies, worth the adventure

it was a late lunch and decided to visit newly opened gazebo branch at al ain.

located in a remote area and in unknown mall.

a large place to accommodate may families at one go.
when we visit itbwas empty around 4 p.m so thought we will spend some food time.

sheikh ali the server helped and suggested some of their best sellers. so we took his recommendation and ordered.

mocktails shouldn't be trying. served warm and not to perfection.

no complimentary pappad or any amuse bush in a fine dine restaurant. this was not expected.

grill prawns: only colour and red chilli flavour
gtilled chicken and mutton both were good and well done.

butter chicken: it was a disaster tomato curry with sugar syrup and small pieces of chicken. returned immediately and exchanged with chicken tikka masala. it was also red chilli flavour.
daal makhni: bland taste
finallybiryanicame in a nice pot but when served all broken rice and mushy. no curry inside and served with boiled chicken. it was much better in their business bay dubai branch.

rasmalai at the end gave some relief but again not served chilled.

ratings for their service and ambiance but nothing for food.

woof: this place is truly a hidden treasure in al ain.
the location is far remote.
but the food was amazing and tantalizing our taste buds. we ordered the hyderabadi muttonbiryaniand adked them to make it spicy and it was lip smacking good. although the bombay chickenbiryaniwas a little bland and the chicken being undercooked the waiter obliged and got us anotherbiryaniwhich was something we really appreciate about this place. this place serves some of the bestbiryanicompared to the other franchises of gazebo we have been through uae. definitely a must try out place.
kudos......
