hello. i am from pinellas. today 11/22/17, i was working in tampa bay area. after work, decided to visit some friends around temple terrace area. on my way there, i stopped by this place, first time, grabbed my friend's favorite drink and went to the cashier, the guy there, swiped my debit card 3 times, of course, i was concern about that, even when he said that everything was fine; thanks to the technology, i opened my bank account application and realized the transaction went thru 3 times, when i showed to him, he stated that i was wrong, i replied: sr. this is my online account and is clear what just happened here; i was stunned when that person told me that i should leave the store or he will call the police on me. i couldn't believe that. i am an honest citizen that was practicing her rights, i was calm and spoke to him in a low tone. i was expecting an apology like any respectable business could do. that person treated me as a delinquent and embarrassed me in front of the other customers. i just told him, yes, call the police, i will tell them that you charged me 3 times, so, who is the delinquent here? i left. i was enough embarrassed. i knew at that point, that maybe i can't get my moneybackbut i could let the owners and everybody know about that situation. and how that person is stealing your money.
i have the proof. my bank account. the owners can check the store reconded video, today, around 2 pm.
thank you for reading.

just stop it, gaspar's, ok? just stop.. i drive past this place several times a week and the fact that it bills itself as an oyster bar tempts me. my husband and i had visited a few months ago and ordered a dozen raw, pleasantly surprised that gaspar's had a decent selection of craft beers on tap. the oysters weren't too bad and we left agreeing that we needed to comebacksometime; it was homey, down to earth, unpretentious, not great but more than good enough being that it's only a couple of miles from our home.

we wentbacklast night, oh how i wish we'd not. we wentbackfor the raw oysters and the craft beer and lo, the raw oysters were on special - that should have been our first clue something was amiss. being the trusting souls we are, though, we ordered two dozen. what showed up in front of us was a plate of dead oysters - they were raw but they looked as though they'd been sitting for a while; sinking down into the shells and melting into the liquor rather than bursting up with plumpness and life. no matter, down the hatch and chase it with a swig of bitter ipa. well, let me tell you, these oysters tasted like they'd been soaking in dirty dish water before they were shucked. i'm sorry to say it because i'm not one to complain much, but the oysters tasted like a stale sponge smells - mildewy and un-fresh. i've never not finished a plate of raw oysters and even if i'd not, my husband would scoop them up. but neither one of us could muster up the cojones to finish these.

we ordered other food to try and make up for the awful oysters; he got a hamburger and i got wings. hubby said the fries were really good. that was about it. none of our plates were cleared of food. but the beer was good.

so i get it, gaspar's. you're not really there to be an oyster bar, and you're not really there to be a restaurant. mostly you're there to be a bar where people can smoke and bring their dogs (don't get me started on the two giant german shepherd mix dogs lying right in the middle of the walk way; we had to turn around and go the other way because there was no room to get around the dogs and they and their owners just looked at us). i'm ok with that - be a patio bar for drinkers and smokers and dog worshipers.

what you need to stop doing is touting yourself as an oyster bar, because no self-respecting oyster bar serves raw oysters that taste like they've been soaking in a bucket of stale water from the hillsborough river for three days. and if you can't get your hands on any good, fresh oysters, you definitely should not be passing these nasty ones on to your customers - not if you're a self-respecting oyster bar. so just stop it, gaspar's. take down the oyster sign and put up a big flashing bar sign, along with a smoking allowed sign and a big giant dogs allowed sign. that should be just about right.

worst customer service ever. my fiance and i was meeting another couple, upon entering there were no empty tables we saw a couple sitting at a large table we asked if anyone was sitting there and we were waiting on two more people about 30 mins later the first couple left and shortly after another couple came in and asked if we mind them sitting there (no problem, the other couple left). when we asked for our bill there was an 18% gratuity charge, we asked the waitress about the charge and she stated her manager told her to charge us that because there was six or more in her party, we explained there was four in our party, we asked to speak to the manager. amy came out with an attitude we explained that we had four in our party that we didn't know the first people that was there or the last people she said very nasty it doesn't matter all of you were at the same table. i told her were not paying the gratuity that i wanted to speak with the owner we're arguing before she storms off she raises her hands like she wanted to hit me, i told her honey you got the wrong one, my cousin told her you don't want to do that so she storms away when she comesbackshe says the owner said if you don't pay the gratuity to call the police. i said well call the police apparently she told the police we ate and wouldn't pay the bill. i explained to them we said we were not going to pay the gratuity (amy is a liar playing police games, very bad for business) she tells the police that she wants me trespassed from there. no problem the only reason we were there was because last year i purchased coupons from work which brings me to the first experience with them. the first experience terrible also, when my fiance and i asked for our bill the 18% gratuity was on the bill when we asked about it the waitress said i am new i will go ask she comesbackwith my manager said because you paid with a coupon, the kicker was that we received the bill before they knew we had a coupon, we asked for the manager and amy comes out with an attitude so her and my fiance were goingbackand forth and finally she was like it says it on the coupon she looked on the front andbackof it she went on and on and very nasty i will take it off this time but next time you're going to pay it and like my fiance said if it's not stated i'm not. i don't know if she tries to intimidate people but that's not going to work with me, you are suppose to treat and talk to people they way you want to be treated and talked to. the very worst customer service in the world. it appears they charge everyone the gratuity and expect for people not to notice.
