great place for breakfast! excellent service and ambiance - the english breakfast was a wonderful change of pace.

best. bar-none the best place to have breakfast in town. order anything from the menu and you will love it. my husband likes the link 'brat-like' sausages the best. very fun atmosphere but be prepared for a wait (it will be worth it!)

i like gaileys. its a very hustling bustling little breakfast cafe. its is small and gets very busy, so be sure to go early and try to get a seat at the bar. the people who work there seem to be the chill artsy type. be sure to try their sweet potato hashbrowns!

comfortable eating spot (chose the restaurant area vs the bar). friday dinner time crowd sparse which did not interfere with the laidback but pleasant service. also pleased with the omelettes we ordered in the create-your-own option. i was happy for the more than expected amount of smoked salmon in mine. decent sides too. only drawback was the sound check going on in the bar for the night’s music; noisy. this place is worth a return.

this is a fun local place. an old hotel lobby now serves as the dining room, as well as the original lunch counter.  food is good, and sunday brunch is a tradition, with very generous omelets and breakfast dishes. the omelets are very good, but beware, the scrambled eggs are terrible. unless you like a plain fried omelet, fried without moving or scrambling it on the grill, then chopped up after cooking. i almost sent it back.  large white pieces, some crispy edges, not even whipped very much before frying.  otherwise lots of good dishes on the menu.

hidden gem and great local spot. found this on way to airport while looking for place to have a good breakfast. great menu with lots of options as well as bar for a couple of kick starter drinks. good service, food, and atmosphere.

took my wife for breakfast date. love the history of the building and location downtown. highly recommend for any local or visiting springfield.

we went here thursday morning on our way to branson. there were so many booths with only one person and they wouldn't let us move a chair to have enough at our table so we had to sit at the bar where they were cooking. our waiter was very distracted. he got our drinks and forgot about us, getting drinks and taking orders at two other tables before we reminded him we needed to order. after that we waited an hour and ten minutes for our food. they forgot part of it but assured it would be out immediately. we had finished 20 minutes later and we got the eggs and bacon. a well run diner doesn't seat or take more orders than they can handle. bad management. it wasn't worth all the waiting. 2 hrs and 15 minutes for a pretty good breakfast. we've had better than the seville omelet but it was okay. the gravy was a mix and very disappointing. granddaughter loved the chocolate chip with peanut butter pancakes. the coffee was great. the wait time inexcusable. the highlight was a young lady wearing a ball cap that said "lover" who was creating the pancakes, waffles, french toast etc. wow! that girl has skill and incredible work ethic! if everyone in that kitchen had her abilities the place would be fantastic.

their breakfast is great! get there early because there is usually a line on the weekends. the eggs are good, but the waffles are to die for!

springfield native, local eater and lover of shopping and supporting local... this place is noted as a springfield "institution" but it is one of the worst places in springfield to get breakfast or lunch. i have eaten here a handful of times; during the week and the weekend and it is consistently bad. eggs are either massively overcooked or snotty under when you order a poached egg or over easy, i have waited 1-2 hours for food each time, the kitchen is always backed up. this place is always packed to the gills and you will have to wait in the queue for at least 15 minutes only to wait a few hours longer to actually get your food. i never seen anyone managing or expediting, it's a bunch of college kids who seem like they're not allowed to initiate changes. the staff has always been very apologetic to my table and the ones surrounding because of extensive wait times and poor food. it seems like a management issue and a bland food issue. i would skip this one forever. i will never return and will never suggest it to anyone.

worst breakfast we have had in a long time, biscuits and gravy.....yuck , the sausage has the worst flavor it's not sausage at all " discussing "i will not be back, you can get a better breakfast at mcdonalds.

this was a great little find for breakfast this morning.  gailey's appears to have taken over about 3 different old storefronts and connected them so that they have 3 dining rooms.  the options for breakfast were extensive and some nice, unique offerings too.  i was thrilled to see a bagel/lox/cream cheese/tomato/onion/capers option, which was really good.  my server was very professional, very prompt and always kept my coffee cup topped off.  there was a good, steady business, so i could tell it was popular with the local folks.  i could see myself coming back here any time i'm in town.

this was the absolutely most average breakfast i've had in my life. keeping it simple, i had the downtowner. two eggs (over easy) sausage patties, hash browns. biscuits and gravy. the gravy was the best part of the meal, and that's not saying much. my eggs and sausage were luke warm. the sausage didn't seem like it had touched a grill. think mcdonalds. i'm guessing it was pulled from a steamer. hash browns had no flavor. i can honesty say i didn't enjoy one thing on my plate. i can not stress enough how poor this meal was.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! had great time & a great breakfast. anytime i'm in springfield again, i'll eat at gailey's. food was just the way i ordered it & the service was exceptional. also, reasonably priced.

positive review. while the wait may be long, the food is absolutely delicious. i've been there a few times and personally never had bad service but i'm sure it's happened just like any other place. the food is a very good experience though!
