dh and i came upon gabbiano a couple of years ago by chance while running errands in the district and were pleasantly surprised. we came back several times because of the good food, decent wine by the glass and swift, friendly service. last weekend we were to dinner (with friends) and it was a disappointment and an embarrassment, as my husband and i chose and recommended the place because of our previous good experience. mediocre wine, overcooked lasagna (hard as a brick!), oilypastaand slow service (our waitress even snapped at our friend when he tried to draw her attention while she was serving the neighbour table, after waiting for 20 min to request another drink). never again.
