don't know where to begin. this has got to be one of the best restaurants i have ever eaten in. had the bang bang shrimp salad which was beyond belief. the warm french bread was crusty on the outside and the inside practically melted in my mouth. the strawberry chocolate fudge cake was delicious. my husband loved the chicken panini and the brown sugar torte. can't wait to return. the food is worth twice the price but do not tell the owners that!

worth it. this place really is worth all the hype. jacksonville doesn't have many places you can say that about, so check this one out!
the brown sugar torte is amazing, all of the bruschettas are fantastic (especially the garlic on the bread) and the french dip is warm, fresh, cheesy and delicious. the only disappointment i've had is in a take home box of chocolate chip cookies but that was because i like chewier, cookies.
get there early or get it to go. it's amazing.

come early !. i was in line at 10:45 am and it took 45 minutes to get to go food and be out the door. i was questioning how the wait could be worth it. the 35 people in line when i left were going to be there for the afternoon. but, the pastrami sandwich was the best we ever had. the eggplant brushetta salad was creative and unique. the shrimp in the other salad were huge. desserts were good. 2 salad, sandwich with cookies and 1 cake was $46. i'm trying it again because i have a day off-- i don't see how u could go on a lunch hour??

focaccia, suprisingly delicious. this is the first time i had focaccia bread that was actually good. usually i avoid it when ordering at restaurants because every time i've tried it was hard as a rock. at the french pantry, the focaccia bread is soft with a delicious butter parmesan crust on the bottom....mmmmm. everything else we ordered was fresh and delicious as well. i will be back for more. the deserts looked amazing so i think i will try one next time.

one of my new favorite places (and apparently, one of everyone's favorites) in jax is french pantry . yelp, urbanspoon, chowhound, even coworkers were telling me i had to get out to french pantry-followed by a run-down of the rules. first, they're only open from 11-2 m-f. there is always a line, so plan accordingly (french pantry lunches are "extended" lunches). dine-in if you can for some of their fresh bread. the warehouse-like building can be difficult to identify (though usually, the line gives it away). and finally, dessert is a must. french pantry french pantry apparently supplies much of the fresh baked bread to restaurants in town. you can also pick up small items like a loaf of bread, package of rolls, or box of cookies from their display cart after your lunch. i've visited a handful of times now and always end up ordering one of their famed bruschettas, which are not your typical tomato/basil/olive oil-topped bread rounds. these are topped with a cheese and protein and served

never tasted such delicious food. the french pantry is located in one of those out of the way places where you would not expect the most mouthwatering, flavorful food in jacksonville. the owners obviously have put their hearts and souls in creating and preparing exceptional menu items. i have enjoyed many of their tasty salads, sandwiches, po boys, bruschettas and deserts which are always beyond belief. recently i ordered a cheeseburger for a change of pace. this was a menu item i had not seen before. if you are searching for the best burger in town, this is the place. no matter what dish they prepare it always surpasses my expectations. the quality and taste cannot be matched at any other jacksonville restaurant. how fortunate we are to have the french pantry in jacksonville, owned and operated by two owners who know how to serve the most delicious, quality food.

the place is small and has a seating capacity of about 30. i am not sure if there is any good time to go there without having to wait 15-25 minutes. for those of you that haven't been there, the place opens at 11 am and already has a line going out the door.

love the place. diningdiva convinced me to go for lunch...hated waiting in line...takes so long but the food was excellent i had a salad with bambam shrimp perfectly cooked. the hot fresh bread is soooooo good...and dessert just get the wedding cake
i really wish they would open a bigger place so they could accomodate all of us..the wait could be over an hour depending on the crowd...and you sit where ever there is room so you end up having people looking at you as you eat with a look that seems to say " hurry up and eat so i can sit down" " you're not done yet?" definetly not a place to have a "social " lunch

the line is worth the wait. get there early or closer to closing, either way there will likely be a line. don't bother if you need a quick lunch but if you have the time this is seriously some of the best food you can find. their desserts are amongst the best i've ever tasted (cheese tart sounds weird but is great, brown butter tart is my favorite, and i would support going to war with france if it meant we could win the recipe for their chocolate cake) and every single entree i've had there is my new favorite (i usually stick to their bruscetta but the raspberry salad is nothing short of perfect when you ask them to add a chicken breast to it). word to the wise, don't go here if you're on a diet. the food isn't exactly the most health conscious but it will give you a new reason to live if you're looking for one

desserts oh my. stopped by french market friday while out running errands. was surprised that they still had a line out the door at 1:30. waited 20 minutes, picked up some desserts and bread for the weekend.

picked up some rosemary/garlic cheese rolls for me, croissants and bagette (for neighbor from france). dauberge (?), pineapple upside down, farm style blueberry cheese cake, and wedding cake. shared with family all were great. my neighbor told me this morning the croissants were the best she has had since she has lived in the us which is well over 50 years. she is looking forward to going here to try the other items they have . . . i will definately be back when i get another chance. wanted to try the green tomato and fried shrimp salad but ate late breakfast so didn't have room.

ultimate cheesecake!. you haven't had cheesecake until you've had it from the french pantry. it's the lightest, freshest, most delicious cheesecake you will ever eat. the regular ny cheesecake with fresh strawberry drizzle is incredible!! the food is great too. it is on the heavy side, but a great treat.
