when you travel one and a half hour just to have a good dessert 🍮 imma tell you it should be worth it! and what can i say, it truly was! it’s not a hype, it is the truth!
we had the chocolate creme brûlée what was the creamiest chocolate on this planet! it was spoon licking good! 🤤🔥
their coconut 🥥 macaroon was amazing too! 😍
we couldn’t resist to have coffee even though it was late at night! so we had the cappuccino which was delicious!! ☕️
my experience will be visible in the pictures too 💯♥️
french broad chocolate lounge is now my favorite dessert place ♥️😍

i really wanted to stop in french broad chocolate lounge while we were in asheville but it was proving difficult to find a time when we were hungry enough for a chocolaty treat. we finally went one night after dinner, not because we were especially hungry, but because it was our last chance and because the dessert choices at dinner hadn't excited me.

so, we figured out why the lines snaked out the door and down the street in front of french broad chocolate lounge. the desserts are world class, pure and simple. the key lime cheesecake with the ginger crust was scrumptious, i had never experienced the taste explosion that i had with the costa rican chocolate ice cream, and the truffles were sinfully wonderful. i don't know how anyone could show any restraint at french broad chocolate lounge with all the tasty and delectable desserts they have to offer. we were scared to go back in the mornings for coffee and espresso because we knew we'd go overboard on the desserts. our visit there was truly one of the highlights of our trip to asheville.

so worth the wait. on any given evening the line will be down the block. settle in and converse with new folks in line, bc no matter what you order it will be worth it! i love the mocha stout cake or the buddha sipping chocolate. gf peanut butter cookies are fabulous! the gelato at their new site is easy to get on a summer day (use side door).

we had time before our dinner reservation so we stopped in for some chocolates and a glass of wine. they have some interesting chocolate flavors, like thai and lavender. we got the strawberry balsamic, lavender and wild honey salted caramel, and the egg nog. all were good but i think i like the chocolate fetish better.

the stuff that dreams are made of. very willy wonka like. i had coconut macroon, shortbread cookie, and a hot chocolate. i arrived as soon as the location opened and avoided the line. i ordered a coffee to go. fantastic.

apparently people who have provided high ratings either lack taste buds or don't get out much. starting with the bass-ackwards line system they have, the experience was awful. i got a french macaroon that had the consistency and taste of a meadow muffin, and a coconut macaroon that i'll be using as a baseball later. my daughter ordered the seasonal trifle which i was told was gluten free but indeed after digging in had cake in it... even my 6 year old had trouble getting it down. if your idea of a good meal includes mcd's, enjoy, otherwise i'm confident you'll be highly disappointed.
