awesome vegan truffles. this place is locally owned and sustainable, and the young owners are committed to very high ethical standards. mostly organic, mostly local, etc. that's all great, but how is the chocolate? outstanding! i'd never had vegan truffles before, but now, due to a dairy allergy i am forced to avoid all things cow. not a sacrifice at french broad. the flavors i sampled were all unique (thai! strawberry balsamic!) and each was delicious. handcrafted and gorgeous. at $2/truffle, these are a luxury treat, but hey, you are probably not going to want to put a whole lot of these into your body at one time anyway. they ship, and this would make an awesome mother's day present. i did not love their french press decaf, but french press can be very hit or miss so i won't hold it against them. i hope this place does really well and sticks around for the long haul.
