i spied a large heavily populated bar on the left and a series of tables for dining. on the right was a ping-pong table, which was kind of odd. not because there was a ping-pong table in a bar. no, that seems like exactly the kind of thing hipsters would want to do whilst swilling suds. it was simply funny because i was hitting the spot at 8 p.m., it was getting dark, and the table was completely underlit, making it impossible for the players to see such a small bouncing sphere. of course, this made perfect sense as i assumed they were just swinging the paddles to look cool anyway.

great beer, average beer price. food is overpriced and portions are on the small side. wiener schnitzel was bland but okay- i’ve had both better and worse, fries are very good. wurst (sausages) are served a toasted hotdog bun which blows my mind, this is just fundamentally wrong, i can’t believe this is endorsed by the famous chef steven star....might as well have put it on sandwich bread. you go to the bar to get your drinks and a window to order, food is then delivered like in a fast food joint. atmosphere is okay if your into the abandoned warehouse look and very noisy. won’t be back.

after a year's worth of anticipation, i finally got to eat at frankford hall! the atmosphere is fantastic! the indoor seating as well as the outdoor seating areas have their own unique qualities to them. i had the weißwurst with sauerkraut and cheese spätzle. the flavors reminded me of childhood trips to german restaurants and a collegiate trip to switzerland.

really like this place.  cool ambiance, open patio type area, live music, good beer on tap, friendly service.  feels like a brewery, with some interesting beer choices.  definitely give this place a look.

stephen starr can do no wrong. this german-style "biergarten" is my go-to for outdoor communal seating and jenga! it's a little off the beaten path, but the potato latkies make it worth it!

beer, pretzels, games, great atmosphere, what's not to love!? frankford hall is a great german style restaurant in the heart of the oh-so-cool fishtown section of the city. perfect for kicking back and relaxing with a pint (or two), they offer a great selection of food and (obviously) beer! complete with beer hall tables in the lovely outdoor area and fun games, fh will you yelling "wunderbar"!

today is saturday, the beginning of 2015’s labor day weekend. the weather was perfect to enjoy philadelphia. frankford hall was the place to be this afternoon with those juicy german sausages washed down with a cool milkshake. powered by wordpress | designed by nick roach

best cheese sauce for pretzels in the city. they even have giant pretzels. and delicious beer - in half liters and liters. while i know there's food on the menu, admittedly it's the beer, pretzels, and cheese that keep bringing me back. the outdoor atmosphere is great (with long german-beer hall style tables), you can roast smores when the fire pits are up and running, and they keep jenga on hand so that you have something to do while you're enjoying your beverage.

frankford hall is a germanesque beer hall in fishtown. it's known for its selection of beers (european and local), brats, and games. it's hosts a large space that houses both indoor and outdoor halls, each of which serves the full menu. i enjoyed some of the beers i had there as well as the foosball. the service was good and the atmosphere represented the up and coming neighborhood around it. overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

gahhhh! yes. love this place. huge german beer glasses, amazing pretzels with cheese dipping sauce, jenga on the tables, fire pits, mulled wine in the winter--and one time i left my scarf there, tweeted about it, and they returned it to me! whaaaat?! love it.

the pretzel is delicious. good mustards available. the beer is tasty, good choices with normal prices. i had the mushroom strudel which exceeded expectation along with the side of lettuces accompanied with watermelon radish, pickled plums (which had a cinnamon hint) all glazed with pumpkin seed vinaigrette. good meal for $10. they have nerd nite which is so enjoyable.

this place should be called frankford hall bring your id or else you can't eat dinner here. i'm 21 but had a 24 year old friend who wasn't allowed into a restaurant without an id, really? so a place would rather turn me and 3 friends away and lose my business plus whoever else i was with and all my friends than let us eat there. starr at his worst....

if you enjoy beer, good food, outdoor picnic tables, ping pong and a really fun, relaxed atmosphere then you will love frankford hall. it's located in norther liberties- the new up and coming hipster-esque area of philadelphia. we went for their first weekend of oktoberfest celebrations. the entire street was closed off with food and beer stands. we went pretty early and found a nice picnic table at frankford hall under the mid-september sun. three hefeweizens in our hands and we were ready to celebrate the harvest season.    we ended up spending the entire day drinking beer which led to an order of practically everything on the menu. i ordered the frankfurter sausage served with a side of red cabbage and mustard. delicious. our table also ordered potato pancakes with sour cream and chives- amazing; cucumber salad- refreshing; and fries- crispy, greasy and perfect.      feeling guilty about all the beer and food consumed we decided to burn it off by playing rounds of ping pong. it w
